Motivation and recognition at work

Greetings dear fellow members of the "Project Hope" community, I hope everyone is very well, it is a pleasure to share with you this post, this time I want to address a topic that I consider very important for all of us who at some point in our lives have been part of an organization, as employees and for the organization itself, motivation and recognition at work. In my work experience to date, I have mainly been part of two organizations for long periods of time, and comparing the experiences in each of them, considering the importance they gave to motivation and recognition, I can say that the results are totally different.

One of the objectives of the companies is to maintain its human resources, and precisely the motivation and labor recognition is a tool that facilitates the achievement of this objective. Recognizing the work of employees is a source of personal satisfaction for the individual, motivating them to fulfill the common goal of achieving the success of the organization.

Here are some forms of labor recognition:
Recognition for achievement of objectives, it is important to value that the goals are met in the established time and with the available resources.
Recognition for additional work, the extra effort and time invested in this can make a big difference.
Recognition of employees who provide support to new staff beyond their responsibilities.
Recognition for individual improvement, those employees who continue to prepare themselves with courses and workshops outside working hours, give an added value to the organization.
Recognition of pro-activity, those employees who take the initiative to create creative actions to obtain improvements in their jobs have great value for the organization.

To conclude, I could say that the top management of organizations must understand the relevance of labor recognition. Motivating and recognizing the correct individual actions of employees will set off a chain reaction, transmitting optimism throughout the work team and fostering a good work environment. It also promotes healthy competition among co-workers, resulting in a more profitable company.

Motivation is vital in the work ecosystem. No matter how motivated we are internally (self-motivation), human beings need the recognition of others. This is how it has always been and will be until the end of our days as a human race.

That is why it is of great help for companies to stimulate their personnel with recognition of all kinds, economic and emotional. This way productivity will be higher and better.
