How do you like these collages I made?

in #art10 years ago (edited)

Hello Steemers,

I would like to share two collages I made 5 years ago using a simple pen to draw portraits and copying it a lot of times. then I cut out the prints and the original and glued them on one paper.

This collage was inspired by my preparation for my oral exams in history. I talked about Nelson Mandela which was a task for me since I had only 10 minutes to summarize his whole life. While reading about Mandela I found out a lot about his life that was very impressing but also a lot that was not presenting him as the archetype of non violence. The way he is often idealized in mainstream media. Not saying he didn't have a great impact on the world of course.

This collage I made from a a self portrait of Adelaide Labille-Guiard a french artist who I like a lot. Especially the way she is working with the light on different surfaces and fabrics is amazing. But see for yourself:

I was 18 when I made those collages and I have not continued doing artwork in this style. Now and then I'm thinking of making a whole series like this. What do you think? I would like to know if you people like it and what kind of feelings and assosiations this artwork triggers in you.

Thank you all and lots of Love <3
