Los Cañoneros

Radio Rumbos was for many years one of the most important radio stations in the country. Founded on December 1, 1941, in Caracas, it was famous for the soap operas that were made there. My mother, Malú del Carmen, who was an actress and a singer, worked there on those novels, and for that reason my childhood was closely linked to that station that was where the Junín Theater is.

Years later, when we started working with Los Cañoneros, we became very close to the owners, the Serrano family, and their public relations manager, María Eugenia Rivas. Thanks to that friendship Los Cañoneros participated in the celebration of the radio station's 35 years, in 1984, which was a great event, held at the Tamanaco Hotel in Caracas.

This is the only photo we keep of that performance.

Radio Rumbos fue durante muchos años, una de las emisoras de radio más importantes del país. Fundada el 1° de diciembre de 1941, en Caracas, fue famosa por las radionovelas que allí se hacía. Mi mamá, Malú del Carmen, que fue actriz y cantante, trabajó allí en esas novelas, y por esa razón mi infancia estuvo muy ligada a esa emisora que quedaba donde está el Teatro Junín.

Años más tarde, cuando empezamos el trabajo con Los Cañoneros, nos hicimos muy amigos de los dueños, la familia Serrano, y de su gerente de relaciones públicas, María Eugenia Rivas. Gracias a esa amistad Los Cañoneros participamos en la celebración de los 35 años de la emisora, en 1984, que fue un evento grandioso, celebrado en el Hotel Tamanaco de Caracas.

Esta es la única foto que conservamos de dicha actuación.

Radio Rumbos war jahrelang einer der wichtigsten Radiosender des Landes. Es wurde am 1. Dezember 1941 in Caracas gegründet und war berühmt für die dort entstandenen Seifenopern. Meine Mutter, Malú del Carmen, eine Schauspielerin und Sängerin, arbeitete dort in diesen Shows, und aus diesem Grund war meine Kindheit eng mit dem Sender verbunden, der sich im Junín-Theater befindete.

Jahre später, als wir mit Los Cañoneros zu arbeiten begannen, kamen wir den Eigentümern, der Familie Serrano und ihrer PR-Managerin, María Eugenia Rivas, sehr nahe.
