As I opened the mushroom season in early summer this year

in #travelfeed5 years ago

This year is not the richest in mushrooms if you look at it historically. The last year that had so many mushrooms was 2016. I cannot say that the following years, including the current year, 2019, were lean in terms of the number of mushrooms, but I did not set any mushroom records in those years. This year allowed me to replenish my mushroom stocks, I dried enough porcini mushrooms, which is enough for a mushroom soup for the whole Christmas period. Last week, I and my brother-in-law were able to find a lot of honey mushroms, the young ones we marinated, this is a delicious dish to which a garnish of boiled or fried potatoes fits. We usedhoney mushroms to dry and use them as a filling for delicious dumplings. And next weekend, I am going to close the mushroom season with my friends, because it will be the last day with warm sunny weather this fall. Of course, some mushrooms will grow later, but we will no longer plan for special mushroom trips.

It was just a long introduction to what I'm about to tell you, my friends, I apologize to you for that. My post today will be devoted to the story of how I opened the mushroom season this year (as you may have guessed, as the title says directly).

So, then, on social networks, in special groups and mushroom forums where I am a member, there was information that mushrooms appeared in the forests. It was mainly about the Kyiv region, and I was convinced that there should be something interesting in the places where I always go for mushrooms. We found some interesting things, but they were not mushrooms (the Fomes fomentarius are not considered). At the time, we did not find any mushrooms, even poisonous ones, so the opening of the mushroom season was very symbolic.

My friends were very disappointed, and to be honest, I was also sad that we didn't find any mushrooms, but I was probably the least upset because I always bring my camera (when we go mushrooms) , so I managed to photograph some interesting things, including a frog in a fallen leaf, a new butterfly species for me, and a beautiful mushroom Fomes fomentarius (inedible, its fruiting body is wooden).

In the end, I want to give you advice, friends, when you are out in nature, you can always see something interesting, so leave your homes more often and go for walks, you will not regret it.
