소개 (Introduce)
한국의 스타쉽 엔터테인먼트와 중국의 위에화 엔터테인먼트의 한중 합작 13인조 걸그룹이다. 현재 활동하는 걸그룹 중에서 최다 인원이다. 2016년 2월 데뷔 당시 12인조였지만 같은 해 6월 프로듀스 101에 출연해 I.O.I로 데뷔한 연정이 합류하면서 13인조가 됐다.
그룹명 우주소녀는 어느 방향에서 보아도 중심이 없는 우주처럼 13명의 멤버들 모두가 중심이 되겠다는 뜻과 세상에서 가장 큰 존재인 우주처럼 가요계 최고가 되겠다는 뜻이 있다. 또한'우리가 주인공인 소녀들'이란 뜻도 담겨있다.

They made 13 members girl group of Korean Starship Ent. and Chinese Yue Hua Ent. join together. It is the highest number of member among the girl group that is currently active. WJSN was 12 members in February of 2016 but in Jun they put Yeonjung who was came to producer 101 and became member of I.O.I to WJSN and they became 13 members group.
Group name WJSN means to be the center of all 13 members like the universe that is centerless in any direction, and it means to be the best in the music industry like the universe which is the biggest being in the world. It also means 'girls who are our main characters'.
