It was then established by the Agricultural Development Corporation Ordinance, 1961 (E.P. Order XXXVII, 1961), as the East Pakistan Agricultural Development Corporation. The corporation has completed the 54th year of establishment on October 16, 2015. In 1975, BADC was renamed as Bangladesh Agricultural Equipment Supply and Services Corporation (BAISSC), since it was considered different from the other development organizations of the government's agricultural sector. But in 1976 the name of the BAISSC was re-changed and the name of the BADC was reinstated. Although BADC is based in Dhaka city as an autonomous organization under the Ministry of Agriculture, the scope of its service extends across the whole of Bangladesh. Field offices are upstream to the upazila level, and in some cases, there is a vast network of offices in remote areas. The power of the corporation's general and administrative guidance and decisions related to other matters is entrusted to the Board of Directors headed by the Chairman. The corporation's organizational structure consists of five wings. These are: Seeds and Gardens, Minor Seeds, Fertilizer Management, Finance and Administration. The administrative wing is managed under the direct supervision of the chairman and the other wings are managed under the supervision of the concerned member-director. Basic tasks conferred on BADC are: Due to the production, procurement, procurement, procurement, storage and distribution of agricultural inputs in the whole country and the need for irrigation for essential agricultural inputs such as seeds, fertilizer supply and land and underground water. With the help of new projects and programs, BADC provides financial support for the use of surface water for irrigation, strengthening the production process through G2G system, strengthening the production of high yielding varieties and increasing the production of adverse tolerant varieties.
