Pencil Drawings of Dogs
Hello everyone! Today I am just going to share a few pictures of my drawing practice today. I started reading a new art book which is like a reference text book. There were many practice exercises so I thought of trying a few. I decided to start by drawing dogs. One of the reasons is because I met a sweet little street dog the day before yesterday but I was in another state and far from home so I did not adopt it. Also, there were some shopkeepers who were feeding him like their own pet. I did pet him and wish to take him but couldn't.

I used a HB pencil for all the drawings since it was only meant for some practice to get familiar with dogs' anatomy and features. I began the drawing exercise with basic shapes.
Then I drew the dog's facial shape gradually. I sort of messed up the face of the first dog. The second one turned out better.
This is the basic head shape of the third drawing. For an unknown reason, this reminds me of a movie called 'The Nun'.
I added a few details here.
I added more details but still with simple shapes without any proper features.
I added some facial features and shading. I also added more details like the eys and nose. I erased some guidelines that I made earlier so it looks less messy.
I think this doggo turned out better than the previous two. I am going to keep practising more until I can draw dogs without needing to refer to a reference image to ensure the right proportions or shape. I hope the doggo makes your day more cheerful. Thank you for checking my post out and have a great day ahead!
