Hello everyone! Today I am just going to share what I had for tea time today. It is called puri and it is an Indian snack. It is made with wheat flour mainly. I like to eat them as in-between meals but they are quite filling and can be eaten as a breakfast meal or dinner as well. Generally, puri is eaten with some potato gravy but we just had them with dhal curry.

The dough of the puri is made prior to frying. Then they are split up into little balls of dough like the above.

They will be flattened using a rolling pin and board.

On the left is some flour which we put on the surface of the board so the dough doesn't stick to it.

This is a rolled puri dough. They are rolled flat like this before frying.

This is the oil used for frying the puri. The reason why it is a lot is because puri is made by deep frying, hence the large amount of oil.

After dropping the flattened puri, we let it fry for a short while. Then we pick it up using this spatula so the excess oil drips off.

Here are some yummy puri!

We placed them on some kitchen towels so that it will absorb more oil and thus the oil in the puri will be minimal.
