Respect Always Begins and Ends With You

RESPECT is such a big word. It is not easy to gain. It should not be demanded. It should be heartily given and earned.

I firmly believe that to gain respect from other people, you should first learn how to respect yourself. If you also want other people to respect you, you should also learn how to show respect to others.

Many misunderstandings and conflicts have started and worsen because most people have taken for granted being respectful with each other.

RESPECT means ACCEPTANCE
When you respect someone, you treat him positively by accepting who and what he is. You learn how to value him as he is.

RESPECT means TREATING A PERSON RIGHTLY
This would mean treating a person in a well and just manner. Showing others some kindness and speaking kindly would mean respect.

RESPECT means LOVE
Showing respect to someone also means you love and care for that person. You learn how to truly value the person. It is rooted on mutual relations where you get what you have given.

Now, why am I so concerned about RESPECT and BEING RESPECTED?

It is simply because nowadays, people are slowly forgetting the right values that all of us should possess. This is evident at home where children are being disrespectful to their parents and elders though their words and especially their actions. This has been very alarming. What would happen to our society if all children will become disrespectful?

This not only happens at home. It is also a problem even at work.

I was really upset because there are many people around who forget the word RESPECT. It hurts to know that there are some who cannot control themselves and show disrespect to other people and sometimes in the eyes of the young ones.

Just last Friday, I was really concerned and worried about my friend. She became a victim of oral defamation by another woman. I was mad because my friend has not done anything wrong. She was just there to help. She came to her speaking gently and thinking positively about her yet she became her stress absorber. She yelled at my friend just because she was angry with another person. She continuously shouted at her making her feel so embarrassed. Was that the kind of person who deserve to be respected?

It is just so sad that we tend to forget our roles because of too much stress and personal problems. We should never ever bring our personal struggles to our work place beacuse it will only cause conflicts and misunderstandings.

We should always bear in mind that there will always be an end-product of whatever actions that we do.

If we really want to be respected, be a person who deserve to be respected.
Always remember to treat people the way you wanted to be treated. Talk the way you want others to speak at you.

RESPECT IS definitely EARNED

LEARN TO RESPECT TO BE RESPECTED
