How I Celebrated the New Year

in Steemit Philippineslast year (edited)

In this post, I will share my own experience of how I welcomed the new year. I'll walk you through the highlights of my new year's party, from the countdown to midnight through post-midnight celebrations and reflections on the year ahead. So grab a drink and join us as we bring in the new year in style!

Attending the Town Event

As New Year's Eve approached, my wife, my son, and I found ourselves getting excited for the celebrations in our town. We'd chosen to spend the evening at a local community festival including a booth decoration contest and a dance competition.

The festival was hosted in Hilongos Leyte's town square, which was magnificently decorated with twinkling lights and colorful streamers. As we approached, we noticed that the square was alive with activity. People of all ages were walking about, chatting and laughing while taking in the sights and sounds of the event.

My wife and I held hands as we walked through the crowd, with our son skipping ahead of us excitedly. We were all looking forward to a fun and festive evening, and we were not disappointed.

Ringing in the New Year

As the countdown to midnight came, we returned home and proceeded to our building's rooftop to view the fireworks. We linked hands and counted down together as the final seconds ticked away: "Three, two, one, happy new year!" And with that, the new year officially arrived, and the sky was filled with a brilliant display of fireworks. The view from up there was spectacular, as we could see the entire city stretched out before us, all lit up by the fireworks.

I couldn't help but be overwhelmed with happiness and appreciation as we watched the fireworks. I was overjoyed to be able to ring in the new year with my family, and I couldn't wait to see what the future year held.

Post-midnight Celebrations

My Sister’s Family

We proceeded to my sister's place after the fireworks to continue the celebrations. We were welcomed with a table full of great meals when we arrived.

The rest of the evening was spent eating, chatting, and enjoying each other's company. My sister's family had really gone all out with the decorations and the food, and it was evident that they had put a lot of time and effort into making the evening memorable.

Taking a group picture of my sister's entire family was one of the evening's highlights for me. We hadn't all been together in a long time, so being able to record the occasion and have a memory to look back on was extremely wonderful.

We proceeded to have a great time together throughout the night, laughing and enjoying each other's company. It was the ideal way to start the new year.

Reflections on the New Year

As the new year began, I found myself reflecting on the previous year and everything that had occurred. While I had many reasons to be happy and proud of myself, I also had some regrets about my personal development and self-improvement. I felt that I hadn't done enough in those areas, and I was resolved to improve in the coming year.

One of the things I want to do in 2023 is to return to college and finish my degree. I'd always wanted to learn and improve, and I thought going back to school would be a terrific opportunity to do so. I was pleased about the thought of academically challenging myself and obtaining new skills and knowledge.

Overall, my main goal for this year was to maximize my potential and seize every opportunity that came my way.

Conclusion

Finally, ringing in the new year with my own and my sister's families was a genuinely unique and meaningful occasion. It was a night to remember, from the countdown to the post-midnight celebrations.

Being able to spend quality time with my loved ones was one of the highlights for me, and I was happy for the opportunity to create new memories with them. I also valued the opportunity to reflect on the previous year and make goals and intentions for the future year.

Overall, celebrating the new year was a wonderful way to start the year on a happy note and to set the tone for the months ahead. I'm looking forward to seeing what the new year brings and making the most of every opportunity that comes my way.

I would like to invite my friends: @usagigallardo15, @yoieuqudniram, @chishei2021, to participate in this wonderful contest.

Great thoughts on your reflection this Year 2023 but then again, think about the reality of today. Some people going back to finish college would be a waste of time because they could've already been working and earning instead. There are lots of self-advancement options that you could consider online if you would want to learn a particular skill. Having a degree is actually not a guarantee in landing a high-paying job. Though this is going to be a case-to-case basis. But if you're in it for the crypto world then all you need to do is to get yourself updated. Indeed a well-written article and not only because for the sake of joining a contest. Keep it up.
