How to build trust when Working with people

No man is an island, despite how clique that may sound, but it is true, no man or woman is an island, we all need someone at one point in our lives or the other. This goes with needing to say, you when dealing with people, things can get tricky, and when things get tricky, promises made may not be kept, and trust is broken. But sometimes, all this altercation can be managed, and there may not be needed in the first place if only people knew what to do and say at the appropriate time, and what not to say at certain times as well. In this post, we will look at a few things that we can do from time to time that will easily create trust between us and the people in our lives, it may be business partners, loved ones or just an acquaintance. Regardless, trust is an important ingredient in living a meaningful life.

Things as simple as body language, and the tone of voices can send an instant message if someone should trust us or not. Especially in social gatherings where you’re just meeting someone for the first time, how you present yourself matters a lot, as well as how you compose yourself during the conversation. Things as simple as opening your palms can signal an inviting gesture towards a complete stranger, that warms that person towards you.

Communication

This is the most important technological advancement ever made, it is one of the major reasons man is at the top of the food chain, and not the Lions or Elephants. Communication has made men so powerful, that you can access information as far back as the beginning of knowledge. But the Lions don’t know that they can’t see beyond their next kill or the fate of their pride, but we can. I recently found out that Crows and Ravens are one of the smartest birds on the planet, some scientist even claim that these birds possess the intellect of men, but despite all the brain power, they are still birds with no advancement in their lives and they can’t compete with man on any frontier, simply because they are smart.

So you see the importance of communication, it transcends time. And if you communicate effectively, you gain the trust of people without even asking, because they believe you will be open and honest with them at all times. Have you ever noticed that people naturally gravitate towards orators, people with great speaking prowess and abilities? That’s because it is a genetic thing that lies predominantly in our DNA, we are moved by a great speech.

Body Language

Body language says more than our mouths might be saying at a given point in time, facial expressions, hand movement and gestures, body movement says a thousand words. That is why some executives insist on face to face meetings when it comes to important matters because. In order to build trust with people, it is always a great plus when you body gestures suggest that you are open, warm and comfortable with them, this way, it will be easier to communicate and co-exist with this people. Great communication and a warm body language, will create and great impression, one that can make people trust you easily, although you will still need to be a man of your words and be great at your job to finally deliver on the front of upholding people’s trust.

Tha game of building trust takes time, it is not something that can be achieved in a short period of time, but these items highlighted in this post will create a good first impression.
