The 1,001 Silences (Day 52)

why not congratulate me
on my many silences, instead?
The times I spared you,
and our world, scandal
by biting my tongue
Keeping one's counsel
is the highest courtesy,
when speaking betrays secrets
We spoke, at great length
but, it was in silence
that we communicated
You, overfond of language,
become an interpreter
of the 1001 silences...

Sometimes I think all the realness is in silence, the unspoken, or that which is left-out.
Gorgeous, as always.
I agree, M, and often say that Silence is my greatest teacher & a capital of riches...
Thank you, for your kindness 🙏🏼
Those thing left unsaid are still felt, alas, but perhaps not as deeply. A profound write, Yahia:)
