The main website address at www.binance.com is still not accessible...

After a day of server maintenance and data verification in a "system upgrade", Binance admitted to falling victim to a DDoS attack on their cloud provider, causing lingering issues for the website at www.binance.com. However, Binance representative @cz_binance offered traders to instead use the links available at us.binance.com or kr.binance.com, according to this tweet, which was retweeted by Binance:

Binance users may be understandably wary using these links instead of the standard website link at www.binance.com. If you're the ultra-safe, paranoid type (as you probably should be), you might want to wait things out until connectivity problems are resolved.

Since it is the same domain, the alternative links should work and should be secure, but I don't know about you -- I'm pretty careful around this sort of thing and prefer for things to settle before handing over my login credentials.

Binance, through this tweet, admitted to falling victim to a DDoS attack. To be clear, this is not a hack or a compromise of their wallets or accounts. It is simply a malicious method of overwhelming a website with excessive traffic that can cause it to stop functioning properly.

As predicted, Tronix, being heavily traded on the Binance platform, has experienced a healthy boost in volume and price today. It will be interesting to see if this continues once the www.binance.com address is fully functional.

To compensate traders for their trouble, Binance is offering a 70% discount on trading fees until February 24, 2018.

Beware phishing scams that may pose as the real www.binance.com website. You're best off simply being patient and waiting for services to return to normalcy, as painful as waiting may be!
