Have you ever used (are you planning to use?) beneficiaries (reward splitting) manually (intentionally) on the Steem blockchain?

Have you ever used (are you planning to use?) beneficiaries (reward splitting) manually (intentionally) on the Steem blockchain?

Some people don't understand what does beneficiaries mean.
I try to explain it in a few sentences in plain English.
Normal case: You publish a blog post with 100% Steem Power reward method. The blog post will earn 1 Steem. You get it all.
Beneficiary case: You publish a blog post with 100% Steem Power reward method. You set someone (for example @steemchiller) as a beneficiary with 50%. The blog post earn 1 Steem. You get 0.500 Steem and person you set (for example @steemchiller) also get 0.500 Steem, so you basically share a given percentage of the post's rewards with someone else (or with other people, if you set multiple accounts). Or even give all of the post's rewards to someone else, if you set 100%.
These are just/only examples. You can set anyone (and multiple accounts) with any percentage(s).

I hope that this explanation is understandable and easy-to-understand.

As far as I know, you could have used only SteemPeak so far to set beneficiaries, but since 2019.09.18, you can also set beneficiaries on Steemit! Read the following blog post by @steemitblog: New Beneficiary Features on Steemit.com for more information.

Some dApps are using beneficiaries automatically. Even dPoll. You create a poll on dPoll, and @dpoll.sponsors get 5% of the payout of the poll. This does not count in this question, because this question is about the manual (intentional) usage of the beneficiaries.

To avoid misunderstandings: I don't have any problem with the 5% in this case, because dPoll is a very good dApp (nowadays one of my favorites on the Steem blockchain), and @dpoll.curation is very supportive in terms of curation (upvoting) towards their users, so they deserve that reward cut from the polls. Or at least in my opinion. Some dApps are using 10% or even more.

I used (and I am using) beneficiaries both with 100% and less. What about you? Have you ever used (are you planning to use?) beneficiaries (rewards splitting) manually (intentionally) on the Steem blockchain?

  • Yes, I have used beneficiaries both with 100% and less.

  • Yes, I have used beneficiaries only with 100%.

  • Yes, I have used beneficiaries only with less than 100%.

  • No, I have not used beneficiaries so far, but I will probably use them in the future.

  • No, I have not used beneficiaries so far, and I will probably not use them in the future either.

  • Sorry, but I still don't know (don't understand) what are the beneficiaries on the Steem blockchain.

Yes. I wrote a post about @steemchiller dApp called Steemworld and made him the 50% beneficiary.

I think it’s a good way to support Apps you like and the Devs who make them.

It’s also potentially a way to help support other causes you believe in...
