Do you used to talk about personal financial affairs with your relatives, friends, acquaintances?

Would you answer (or ask) a question like these:

  • How much is your income in a month/year?
  • Do you have savings above $x USD/EUR (or any other currency)?
  • What is the value of your house/car (anything else)? Is it paid?
    And so on.
Some people like to talk about it, some people don't.
What about you? Do you used to talk about personal financial affairs with your relatives, friends, acquaintances?

  • Many times.

  • Sometimes I talk about it. I am not avoiding the topic.

  • Rarely, but the topic is disturbing me.

  • Not at all, this is taboo.

Why not? Is there a need to keep up appearances? If you do so no one will ever help you.
