HOW TO CROCHET A CHARACTER BEANIE "OWL" - LESSON NO. 4
Hello everyone! Welcome to Alodia's Crochet Corner's Tutorial! This is the 4th lesson that I am going to teach and share to all of you. Because giving is love I am going to give this pattern for free!!!
Lots of pattern are actually free, especially video tutorials on youtube and some website who gives written pattern.
Actually dear steemians! I am not that really good in writing, especially on blogging!. This is actually my first time to experience writing a longer blog, haha!. Only here in #steemit and I am happy that here in #steemit I am about to discover to myself that I have also a potential to become a blogger. Lol!
And only here in #steemit, you will witness and experience and also learn how to crochet. I am not a professional teacher, but I am trying my best to share with you my simple knowledge in this kind of art or making this kind of handicrafts. This is the only thing I know how to bring back the "old times". The old hobby which they say are for "grandma's" only. In this millenial, dear #steemians, I as a crocheter become more amaze and inspire when I discover a lot of people who is also crocheting, take not not "oldie or grandma" but also a 13-16 years old are now really good in crochet. I have this friend in facebook, she is living in Baguio City.
She said to me when I ask her, why in that very young age she crochet? She said that:
"Ate, I am suffering in depression, when I was at my young age, 5 years old all problems became and give bigger impacts on me until now. I need to have something to make fun of. Then that's the time when my mother introduce me the crochet!"
Crochet is for relaxation, whenever you are depressed or stressed! How come that this young girl suffer from a very tragic moment on her life. I won't tell what kind of tragic because it's kinda really personal.
Now this little young girl is a very good crocheter and I really idolize her. She is now selling her products abroad and also sells yarn! Since she is in Baguio, and Hangar Market is near in their house! How lucky she is!!! Many crocheter told her,
"You are lucky! you are in Yarn Heaven!".
Not only young girl whom I idolize, I had also discover a man in instagram who is doing great in crocheting! He is so lucky because just this week He got featured in a famous magazine! Wow isn't that amazing!!!!
Crochet is not for oldies now! It is for everyone who would like to learn. If you can see it in a first glance, you will definitely find it difficult, but as I said in every blog I post made in the past, "It is really fun, challenging"and sooner or later you can tell to yourself "I AM A CROCHET ADDICT!".
I am 22 years old only, but I had this regret because I just realized this kind of hobby very lately. If I just started this very earlier I think I can make a lot of projects! |
Haha! You know dear #steemians, it is hard for me to bought this yarns huh, because Baguio City is really far in Gensan City. We don't have this kind of yarn here. We only have here is the typical yarn used in braiding the notebook hehe. Baguio City is lucky because they were the "bagsakan" of yarns! And Philippines is so lucky because we have Local yarns unlike on buying branded yarns, OMG!!! it is so expensive!!
If you will going to buy your yarn, I will recommend Rosal Perito who own's Rosal's Crochet. You will contact her on her facebook page. She is a good seller, easy to talk with..
I made a character beanie and it is an owl! It is so much fun because to make it more attractive I used different colors! And since it is my daughter's personal used, I make it a girly owl! Haha!
So, I think it's time to start our project.
This crochet character beanie has it's written and photo tutorial. I also added some video just for clarifications of some instructions that I can't really explain. heheh! But I will tell you it is easy!

Yehey we are almost done!!!! Let us now sew the details on our beanies!!!
For the hair of our owl I just cut enough length of yarn then I tied it both sides ..
See the photo below
And now we are really really done!!!!
It is really quite challenging but it is super fun!!!
But my daughter don't want to wear the beanie I made haha! And that's why I wouldn't able to capture a good photo! How sad! She is now turning 2, and now she is so naughty and very "malikot". My baby is growing too fast. I hope time would move slowly, but we can't stop them to grow!
I wanted that my baby would know also how to crochet. I will teach her when she is already n her right age. I will teach her so that I have already a good heritage to give her, hehehe!
But ofcourse I wanted her to be my buddy on my business. How I wish she would like this kind of hobby too.
My hubby also knew how to crochet. I also taught him, but he is so hard to taught because he is a left handed!
Do you imagine? I am going to the right direction while him going to the left! How come we would meet on the same direction haha!
But I am proud of him, He tried his best to make and finished a product. I like the way he crochet, i like how it turned out when he made it.
So that's it I think for today!!! I hope you like my post for today,, Let's spread happiness to every one!!! Thanks guys!!!
