As I've mentioned, I'm pretty sure Uncle Maurice was "in the Navy". I also think he was some type of medical corpsman. These look like (blurry) pictures in the local hospital. A surgery table in the first picture and an autopsy table(!) in the second. These early color snapshots were processed Dec. 16, 1947.
