Swapmeet Finds #2328

Today's slides were all dated 1958 and they're all about Fanning Manor. And thanks to one little clue, I was finally able to track down this house and find our exactly where it still is! The sign under the window box says, "The FANNINGS 2619". I did a search for Eugene E. Fanning + 2619 + New York (because I knew that's the state they were in) and joila! Got a hit! 2619 Alice Ave., North Bellmore, NY 11710. And sure enough, if you look at Google Street View: http://bit.ly/2FOqhPG , it's exactly the same house (with just a few cosmetic embellishments). Apparently, some doctor lives there, now ("Michael C. Poliseno, APN"). Plus, if you pan around the street view, you can see that cool house across the street is also still there (last seen in post #2325)! And the houses on either side appear to be the same as well. I love things that survive! :-)

p.s. doesn't that seem like a very short dress that Lottie's wearing - especially for 1958!?
