SteemChurch:Jesus cried!
I wonder, what would be my reaction when visiting cities like Hollywood, Las Vegas and even Jerusalem itself! What would call my attention in each of them? I think that because of the artistic vein that I have, when I entered the world capital of the show, I could not avoid a tear from escaping me. I imagine walking the streets, where a lot of movies have been filmed; the facades built to emulate the White House, or some castle! Undoubtedly, I would be invaded by a special emotion, when visiting that city. I also wonder, if upon entering Las Vegas, capital of vice, lust and anarchy, I would be able to mourn as Jesus did, even before entering Jerusalem! "And when he came near and saw the city, he wept on her "(Luke 19:41)
Is that while we all look and admire the landscape and superfluous things, Jesus looks at the social wound; misery, enclosed between walls that stand as mute witnesses of what happens there within the city. It tells the biblical account, in (Luke 19:37) that the disciples were going down to a party, where all was supposed to be hustle and bustle. They did not understand why the Master was crying. Jesus was not a corny who kept crying. The times Jesus wept, it was because something moved him in his spirit. He wept for the sin and indifference that reigned in Jerusalem. The hypocrisy of the Pharisees, idolatry, indolence, prostitution, and every form of sin that lacerated the soul and body of the inhabitants of a Jerusalem, accustomed to that lifestyle; Very cauterized, as if to feel something for theirs! When Paul visited Athens, he was not indifferent to what was happening there; (Acts 17:16) says that his spirit was enraged to see the city given to idolatry
The missionaries, we are sent to work, to different cities. Sometimes we go with some previous knowledge of the place, but other times, we grope blindly. Only moved by obedience, and the passion to serve God, eager to win souls for Christ! We make plans and projects; we create strategies, and we even make plans to build temples. All this is good, but beloved, let us take the time to observe, to recognize the land that we will have to conquer. We need to see the way the Lord sees; With spiritual eyes! Recognize social wounds, to remedy them; see the shortcomings to replace them, be they spiritual, physical, material or emotional. Let's not be indifferent! Let's fast, pray and shed tears of intercession before God for our city. He will not only give us the strategies to be victorious in the conquest of that territory, but he will also supply everything we lack, according to the riches in Glory in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19)
The last king of Alhambra, when contemplating his beloved city, wept bitterly. His mother told him: "You cry like a woman, what you did not know how to defend as a man". Undoubtedly, the Moorish leader had not known how to cry in time! Will you do it? ... Will you cry for your city? ...
Jesus cried!
Because I cry? Jesus wept because he knew what awaited him in Jerusalem, the city he loved. He cried for a town, which he loved even more. He cried because he knew how that people sought salvation everywhere except where they could find it. He cried when he heard his "Hosannas" because he knew they did not understand its true meaning. The people cried out, "Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord, Hosanna in the highest." His words resonated in Psalm 118: 25-26 as they sought political freedom and prosperity in the Messiah. They hoped that the kingdom of God would come forth immediately even though Jesus had taught them otherwise. They celebrated him as the next king but rejected him as their Savior. Perhaps the exciting reality of his rejection and all that this could mean for his future overwhelmed him as he looked at the city.
The moment you believe He would cry for Himself, Jesus would weep for the sheep He had come to save but flee from His rescue.
We can not be indifferent to the situations that surround us, we cry, we cry, we moan before God for our city, our neighbors etc.
Many times we worry more about the material things we need, and it is valid, but God teaches us to seek first the kingdom of God and his justice, and the rest will come in addition. If we care first about the work we were commissioned to do, God will give us everything we need, your message will lead me to a biblical verse that fits perfectly with the message
As intercessors we must stand in the gap to pray for our people and ask for forgiveness for sins in general.
Good message sister, God bless you
