STEEMCHURCH: Doing as God says.
Genesis 6:22 "So Noah did it; He did according to all that God commanded him".
In this episode of the flood, the mercy of God is highlighted, manifested in the construction of the ark, whose purpose was to bring salvation; but the obedience of Noah, who does things as God commanded him, also stands out.
This means that in order to be saved it is necessary to do things as God says. Let's see what Noah's obedience consisted of.
INSTRUCTIONS TO BUILD THE ARK.
Genesis 6: 14-16 "Make yourself an ark of gopher wood; you will make rooms in the ark, and you will caulk it with pitch inside and out. And in this way thou shalt make it: the length of the ark three hundred cubits, its breadth fifty cubits, and its height thirty cubits. A window you will make to the ark, and you will finish it at an elbow of elevation by the part of above; and you shall put the door of the ark at his side; and you will make it low, second and third floor".
A. MATERIALS. Gofer wood; and Brea.
B. MEASURES. Of three hundred cubits the length of the ark, of fifty cubits its width, and of thirty cubits its height.
NOTE: Boat builders know well that for a ship to float, it is necessary that the length be six times the size of its width. We must bear in mind that God gave the ideal measures to Noah 4,500 years ago.
C. MODEL. A window you will make to the ark, and you will finish it at an elbow of elevation by the part of above; and you shall put the door of the ark at his side; and you will make it low, second and third floor.
Genesis 6:22 "... And Noah did so; he did according to all that God commanded him..."

INSTRUCTIONS TO ENTER THE ARK.
Genesis 6: 19-21 "And of all that live, of all flesh, two of every kind you shall bring into the ark, that they may have life with you; male and female will be. Of the birds after their kind, and of the beasts after their kind, of every creeping thing of the earth after its kind, two of every kind shall enter with you, that they may have life. And take with you all food that is eaten, and store it, and it will provide sustenance for you and for them".
Genesis 7: 1-3 "And Jehovah said to Noah, Enter you and all your house into the ark; because I have seen you right before me in this generation. Of all clean animals you will take seven pairs, male and female; more of the animals that are not clean, a couple, the male and his female. Also of the birds of the heavens, seven pairs, male and female, to keep the species alive on the face of the earth".
A. CLEAN ANIMALS. Of all clean animals you will take seven pairs, male and female.
B. NOT CLEAN ANIMALS. Of the animals that are not clean, a couple, the male and his female.
C. FOOD OF ALL KINDS. "And take with you all food that is eaten, and store it, and it will provide sustenance for you and for them".
Genesis 7: 5 "And Noah did according to all that the Lord commanded him".
Genesis 7:16 "And they that came, male and female of all flesh, came, as God had commanded him; and Jehovah shut the door".

INSTRUCTIONS TO LEAVE THE ARK. (Genesis 8: 5-20)
NOTE: Noah did not leave the ark without first receiving instructions from God.
A. OPENED THE WINDOW OF THE ARK (verse 6) "It happened that forty days later Noah opened the window of the ark he had made".
B. SENT A CROW, LOOKING FOR A SIGN (verse 7) "and sent a raven, which came out, and went and returned until the waters were dried up on the earth".
C. ALSO SENT A DOVE. (Genesis 8: 8-12) "He also sent a dove himself, to see if the waters had been removed from the face of the earth. And the dove did not find where to plant the sole of his foot, and returned to him to the ark, because the waters were still on the face of all the earth. Then he stretched out his hand, and taking it, he brought it into the ark with him. He waited another seven days, and again sent the dove out of the ark. And the dove came back to him at the afternoon hour; and behold, he brought an olive leaf in his beak; and Noah understood that the waters had been removed from the earth. And he waited another seven days, and sent the dove, which did not return to him anymore".
D. REMOVED THE COVER OF THE ARK (Genesis 8:13) "And it came to pass in the six hundred and first year of Noah, in the first month, on the first day of the month, the waters were dried up on the earth; And Noah took the covering of the ark, and looked, and, behold, the face of the earth was dry".
E. "THEN GOD SPOKE TO NOAH, saying:" (Genesis 8: 15-17) "Come out of the ark you, and your wife, and your children, and the women of your children with you. All the animals that are with you of all flesh, of birds and of beasts and of every creeping thing that crawls on the earth, you will take with you; and go on the earth, and bear fruit and multiply on the earth".
F. HE DID NOT KNOW HOW GOD COMMANDED HIM (Genesis 8: 18-20) "Then Noah went out, and his sons, his wife, and the wives of his sons with him. All the animals, and every reptile and every bird, everything that moves on the earth according to its species, came out of the ark. And Noah built an altar to the LORD, and took of every clean animal, and of every clean bird, and offered burnt offerings on the altar".
How am I doing things? God is pleased with our obedience. It is worth obeying.
Here we have the first meaning of the will of God: It is the sovereign control of God over all his creation. We will say that this definition identifies your sovereign will or your decreed will. This will can not be broken. It is always true. He acts according to his will in the army of heaven and among the inhabitants of the earth; No one can stop his hand, nor say to him, "What have you done?" (Daniel 4:35).Great message, based on obedience principles and doing what God demands of us.
Wow, what a wonderful post about Doing as God says. And Noah is a perfect example of this topic you explained. Indeed we as chriatain we need to listen to God and answer him, when he call on us. Just like Noah, when God called on him by telling him to build an Ark, Noah never relented or said no to God. He obeyed him and started building the ark.
Note !!!
The opposite of obedience is disobedience. When God call on us, we neglect him, we have disobeyed him.
Thank you very much, that's right, blessings for you... Only obey God... 🙏

Beautiful post and very well documented. Congratulations @xioran. God bless you
Thank you my friend... 🙏
We must also be willing to do whatever God asks of us. The Prophet Joseph Smith said: "I imposed this rule: When the Lord sends it to you, do it"
