I agree of course. Mexico City isn't all that bad either... there are areas, of course... there are also incredibly nice areas (that's where I usually go)... just like anywhere... Chicago has some nice areas and there is places where there are 50 shootings every weekend. I prefer Acapulco over any of them.

Is like any other place. I have been living in Mexico for the past 8 years and I am not planning to go back to the states, not even for a million dollars. Jeff, your work is great. I have been listening to you for a long time. Thank you.

I'd still want to carry a gun and be able to consume any plant I wanted. How difficult are those two things to do as an expat in Mexico?

I didn't ever see someone pulled over by any law enforcement and I've been here over a week. At home in Canada I can't get down a Main Street without seeing that over and over. Also it's clean here and I don't see poverty. Everyone's happy and wearing nice clothes. At home in Canada we have homeless people freezing to death and people trying to help the situation being harassed by authorities for trying to do so. Anything to shut them down. I guess they think if they eliminate a solution for a problem they eliminate the problem. I guess we need more govenment schools to perpetuate this incredible critical thinking and reasoning power. Don't slip on the sarcasm. Mexico just made me ashamed of my country. I see no sign of that here in Acapulco at all....at all.

nice post.thanks for shearing travel experience video sir.

My great big pleasure

It's in everyone's best interest there to keep the place peaceful since it is a tourist destination. Sure, that makes prices a little higher than other places, but the theory is solid: If you plan to live overseas or expatriate, go to a place that is a popular tourist destination. You'll be safe and enjoy it that way!

Heard there was a big quake in Acapulco during the event. Are you all OK?

I've ventured out in Acapulco many days on many trips. I've yet to see anything too crazy. I did talk to some locals and they explained some of the ins and outs of the potential danger. I honestly have felt safe everywhere I've been in Acapulco compared to some of the places I've been such as Chicago, Little Rock, Memphis, Louisville, LA, Atlanta, and Tampa. Those are all great cities with some very nice areas and a few dangerous parts of town. Acapulco seems no different. Common sense, and be on the side of caution when you are new to ANY area in ANY city.

It's always nice to hear another canadian's perspective. Thanks for sharing.
I would love to make it down there some day.
