BAT initial sale experience

in #ethereum7 years ago

I have just sent BAT guys a mail, and they haven't answered within the time of three blocks, which is why I now post my mail here as well

Hello BAT developers – and marketing guys in the BAT industry.

Thank you for the beautiful event with the BAT that lasted for 3 blocks!

Next time you release a sale of a similar token – or even if you consider to release some more – you could also consider to limit the allowed amount of tokens to be bought by one address to proliferate them some more amongst those, who cannot block the etherexplorer 20 minutes before launch until after the sale Is completed, that is normal traders who just want to have a small part of the cake, and who has actually read all of the material provided.

The sale might have been completed within a couple of hours instead, but much more would have benefitted from the sale. To be frankly this procedure is not decentralized when 80 percent of the tokens are owned by less than 20 persons.

I understand the funding you need, and that you probably would have had more challenge in fulfilling the goal, but as it is now, I hope the token will be more or less boycotted by the masses due to this unfair way of conducting an initial sale. Even if you look at the transactions, several thousands have tried to gain just a little bit of the Bats, which is good for your business, but they have also paid useless transaction fees in a game already lost to begin with.

I hope you will consider to limit next time sales if any to a few ETH per address IOT get much more people as owners of the token, securing it – evolving it and not least talking about it.

I assume, that lll of us with slow connections and small investments that did not have more of a chance to get through than a snowball in hell are not impressed of the way this was done. I will now try to gain some steem tokens by spending the same amount of time writing against BAT and the way it was promoted and sold initially and hopefully a couple of thousands that just experienced charge of txfees in this already lost battle. Unless of course you have a good explanation for this, an explanation that can justify what just happened.

Yes, I am a bit frustrated, mostly because I know a lot of people were supporting you (including me) to begin with, and that most had hoped to get a ticked on board this particular train in trust to the board of very clever developers. But now I have said it, and I hope that next time (if you decide to release some more tokens) you will consider a method that would bring more proliferation of the token – and I also think, that on the long term you will be better rewarded by doing so.

“Kind regards”

MT
