New world record in 60 meters flat
Coleman, the world sub champion of the hectometer in London 2017, achieved Friday night a time of 6.37 seconds, to reduce by two hundredths the primacy of the orb of his compatriot Maurice Greene, reached in 1998 on the track of the former Sports Palace of Madrid and matched by himself in Atlanta in 2001.
At 21, Coleman is the new king of the short sprint and already counted among his credentials with the best world record of 100 meters in 2017 (9.82 seconds) and two wins against Jamaican Usain Bolt at the London event.
El primer título mundial al alcance de Coleman es el de los 60 metros lisos en la cita bajo techo de Birmingham, Reino Unido, a disputarse del 1 al 4 de marzo.
