La raíz de las ideas irracionales se encuentran en la vivencia de que todo lo que sucede pretende fastidiarnos, que aquello que los demás hacen es para molestarnos, que el universo se conjura para volvernos desgraciados…Esto, por supuesto, no es así; las cosas simplemente en el cerebro, si este saca conclusiones falsas la emoción actúa como si fueran verdaderas.
Hay dos formas de pensamientos irracionales una consiste en atribuir desgracias a cualquier suceso y la otra es ceñirse rígidamente a un ideal llenándose la mente de “deberes”.
El pensamiento subyace a este tipo de afirmaciones:
• los seres humanos son frágiles y deben ahorrarse todo tipo de experiencias
• el amor perfecto y la pareja ideal existen realmente
• tanto tienes tanto vales
• las auténticas relaciones afectivas se basan en el mutuo sacrificio
