Dave...you're soft. In Asia you have to haggle or people think you are a push-over. You can't take the first offer no matter how good it sounds. You have to poke at it, complain, ask for more than is reasonable. Argue your point in front of the cameras because the people RESPECT leaders who are tough and smart negotiators. If Trump signed the deal right away, the people of North Korea and most of Asia would say 'Kim probably gave away too much, he should have got more...a street vendor could have done better!' Likewise (with China looking on) 'Trump signed right away...he must be a push-over, he'll take any deal we offer'. What would be the best is if it went all the way (in front of the cameras) for a couple junior negotiators on both sides of the deal calling each other names and getting into a fist fight and drawing a little blood. Then there would be no doubt in NK and the rest of Asia that both sides stood their ground and hammered out the best and fairest deal for each side.
