"Roses are Dead"
I really enjoy dried flowers; I think that their colours really come out and are really sharp once the flower has died. I do, in fact, have an entire series of "Roses are Dead" photos with various dried roses and carnations. With this particular duo of flowers, the 'death' symbolism is somewhat poignant.
The drooping rose in the background is the first flower that my son's (now ex-) girlfriend gave him. The boutonniere in the front is what she gave him for prom. They have since broken up and it seemed somewhat fitting to me that the flowers have since died as well.
I'm a Goth, I appreciate dead dry flowers, especially roses. BTW, forgot to mention that I'm Canadian too.
I have a big respect for Goths; I enjoy the culture as much as the steampunk. And skeletons. I have an almost unhealthy fascination with skeletons.
There are a few other dried rose pictures somewhere in my collection I'll hunt down. Thanks for the comments!

I did notice the hallmark steampunk goggles on with the top hat.
