Plagiarism and STEEMIT, What Should be Done? Flagging, Upvoting or Ignore?
So I have thought of this situation a few times while posting on Steemit, what would happen to someone that was just cutting and pasting content from some obscure ten page deep google link to a 1994-style hmtl nightmare website that has a trove of informstion still on it? Many people would think it is genuine new content but it isn't and furthermore the user would be resarded, presumably, for simply cutting and pasting this content. That was my first thought but it brought me to another one.
I was and am considering releasing a bunch of posts that are basically the culmination of all the degrees I have achieved and the Word documents I made taking various courses along the way. I have a degree in Literature and Journalism. I have a degree in Pre-Medicine and Biology. I have a minor in Chemistry and I have a Nursing degree as well as I am in another Nursing program and as such have a lot of essays and other things like lab reports that I would love to bestow upon the community. I am sure some people can say "hey let me take that and use it" and to you I say good luck with plagiarism not biting you in the butt. Personally I don't care if you take my work because I am and always will be the primary source, even if released on Social Media like STEEMIT. So go at it.
I wanted to release my papers and works to not just give out free essays but because they are informative and interesting to those sho like those topics and also it will allow me to create more "meaty" content to add to my Steemit portfolio. Also I put a lot of time and effort into these papers and don't want them sitting on my hard drive and cloud drive wasting away when another student can read it and use it as a template or source for their own paper. Imagine, someone sourcing STEEMIT as a secondary research source! I would be so honored to be in your Citations! But what do you all think the best way to go about this is?
I have probably upwards of 300+ essays and papers, journals and lab reports as well as a 25 page Thesis on "Antibiotic Resistant Bacteria and the Future of a Medicineless Healthcare System." I don't want to dump it all at once because I think I will just lose out on SP which is what I really want. That and followers so I can stake my claim here before the masses and madness rush in.
I have close to 300 SP and that isnt a lot, I know, but I earned 95% of it. Other than buying in when I first made an account, I have 'Mind' every token since. Should I release each paper daily and that way I can have an equal flow of information for those who follow me and others who will read it? How do you think I can expand my Following by releasing all this content? Daily posts? A couple a day? Crank them all out and put them under the right tag? What should I do? My goal is to have 500 followers and 1,000 SP and its my moonshot to get over 1,000 followers and 5,000 SP. i have never taken a payday from Steemit and I am 100% committed longterm to the platform and so I sell my SD for STEEM and convert my STEEM into SP every single time, unless sometimes I will burn some SD to promote a post just to see what happens.
So what do you guys think? I upvote replies and the more the merrier. I am all 👂's. Like Obama. Thank you for reading and I hope to be able to release some of MY OWN, UNIQUE and ORIGINAL CONTENT, while being able to see some $20+ Blog posts for having done so. And hopefully through this dissemination of information I can gain some followers who are into Science, Literature and Nursing. Quite the renaissance man aren't I?

Whenever you believe in someone, or see great potential, help them out with an Upvote and a Resteem and if you really want to hear more follow them. That is what I do and I have made some really great connections having supported those who support me and joined communities of like minded people. STEEM-ON! I think you should address a given public, considering the potential complexity of your posts. Unless you make them all PG17, even if that entails rewriting a lot. If you have time, you could try posting every 6-7 hours (I understand if you go be one 4 posts, your rewards are halved), publish king this way can help you being known by many people.
Make a logo to identify you, and perhaps some kind of slogan that identifies what you are or what you write.
GREAT IDEAS! I really do need to make a logo and slogan. Right now my slogan is "Resteeming is the Kindest Thing you can do!" Haha. Shameless. What were you saying about the rewards and how they are affected by when i post? I am still not very aware of how to get maximum exposure because sometimes I will make a post that had a lot of time put into it and it barely gets any views and I don't know why. I always think I post at the wrong time of day.
About the rewards. I was saying no more than 4 posts a day. And post at different times of the day every day. Use appropriate tags.
And, use eSteem app.
I try using the eSTEEM app but it doesnt seem to keep my account updated. But that is a good schedule for posting. Like I said I am not so great at getting views 😂
Well, i failed when I tried to use the Scheduling Function. Still, I use it for posting.
I guess I have just become used to using the browser. Works pretty well for me especially on the iPhone but the iPad is better. I need to hook up my second PC monitor so I can login and keep STEEMIT on at all times!
Suit yourself. I've been told that the 4 posts limit was removed from fork 17 https://github.com/steemit/steem/releases?after=v0.17.1
I'm not disagreeing I am just saying I don't know how the changes affected everything.
We have the @cheetah bot. one one the most dangerous bot on Steemit, which scans every post on Steemit for similar content elsewhere.
As well as a team of @steemcleaners that will flag a vote to oblivion if a plagiarist comes into radar. However, state clearly that it's your own work.. and you'll always be spared granted if you're not lying.
Go ahead.. im sure some of your essays are greatly useful for certain Steemians. It's your work after all and you ought to share it.

Thanks a lot. It is all, 100%, genuinely my work, with proper sources and citations to boot. It is no where on the internet so therefore there will be no other place this material would e posted short of the sourced I used to quote people and use data and charts, etc. But like I said I cite my sources if I have any so it shouldn't get flagged. Hopefully people will find it not only useful but interesting and informative. I took a lot of College so there are a lot of different topics and subjects to read both in the Sciences andthe Liberal Arts being that I have a AA in Literature and Journalism (dual major) and BS in Pre-Med/Biology with a Minor in Chemistry as well as a Nursing degree and all that. I asked my M.S. Nursing Professor this past semester and he said I could plagiarize myself but not be legally or ethically held responsible unless I was told to make an original essay or report and instead used an old one of my own.

No I guess I was saying what would the community do if someone else plagiarized something and claimed it as their own. My material will be unique because I created it but obviously someone else can take it afterwards, not that I care so long as they source me in ther own work, or even steal it straight up. The internet has yet to see my material so it will always be the first example of it should I post it on Steemit. I just better get some Followers (!) and Upvotes (!) and maybe some Resteems (!!!) so I can help pay for all those College Courses that made that content possible. Yeah, thats my ultimate dream. The dissolution of my College Debt haha. But if I have content just sitting here I might as well publish it online. At least then I can say I made $X publishing Science Journal Articles and other topics and who knows maybe I will make it to Wikipedia one day hahaha

Only flag it if I stole it but, and I know you are effin with me but, science journals/reports/articles often have many "primary" and "secondary" sources themselves but they are always properly cited in my work, otherwise my Professors would be pretty pissed and give me a Goose Egg and not only that be forced to report me to the "Academic Ethics Committee" for punishment. A punishment btw that csn be as high as getting kicked out of school (even if its your final course) and also having it on your transcripts. It is the kidd of death. You think you are tsking a shortcut and dont see its right through a fast running stream that can knock you over and drag you down.

You could just post all of your research and papers, or you could bring them up into the present, maybe weave a story around them, or tie them into contemporary issues. I just got rid of my Microbiology book that I used for a class in 1981. No mention of HIV, thas' how old.
I think your intentions are good. I also suspect you've got a little bit of the element that I have - I don't know about being a minnow, but I tell you, sometimes I'm a flounder - I'm floundering around trying to figure
out what to do.
I think - and you might not agree - that by giving it a little bit of a break, you will feel refreshed and know what to do. And maybe find something that is really so uplifting to write about that it's a no-brainer, something that lifts your whole being that you enjoy and can describe the event and experience to your readers.
Yeah, we've got a lot of dark evil stuff we need to bring into the awareness of our fellow travelers, but we can't let it swallow us alive.
I know I can wait you out until you've hit your stride. You didn't give up on me when I had to take a breather, and you gave me good advice about tags and timing, and I'm going to pay attention to those factors.
Mostly, we need to offer kick *ss content, and just from the little I know about you, I know you have a rich base of experience to draw from and build on.
This all has nothing to do with plagiarism. I've had my run in with that, flagged, went into Steemcleaners chat room. We can talk about that if you like sometime. It irks me that people flat out steal content or use stuff and don't credit the source.
