The Strain

Sour Diesel is one of the most consumed sativas of all time. It is pretty much at legendary status and is a must try for anyone. The pungent chemical smell gives Sour Diesel it’s name and the high makes you feel like you are running on gasoline.

Introduced in the 90s, the exact genetic background for Sour D isn’t known for sure. The common theory is it came from the Chemdawg 91 and Super Skunk. This stanky flower with an energetic high is perfect for a day time high.

The Flower

The buds are round and medium sized. The color is a yellowish green with red red hairs also known as pistils. It’s is sticky, but doesn't look as frosted or white as other buds.

The smell is what Sour Diesel is known for. It almost stings the nose when you take a whiff. Wakes you up like a shot of espresso. The smell is a pungent petrol aroma with some subtle hints of lemon. It definitely does smell like fuel and you can see where the name comes from.

The taste was a little more sour and skunky. The smoked burned nice and cool. Even though it does have this ‘diesel’ quality to the smell, it’s not unpleasant like if you were to actually smell gas. It’s enjoyable and unique, just strong.

The High

I really enjoyed the high. It’s fast acting and energetic. During the second hit from my pipe I was already feeling it. Not much of a body high, but had a dreamy and happy head buzz.

I smoked in the morning and after my sesh I was awake and ready to hit the day. I was full of ideas and energy, but it was a little hard to focus. I kept getting distracted. But if you aren't on a deadline that can be a very fun! Also lasted a long time and didn’t give me a comedown.

Recommendation

I love Sour Diesel and would highly recommend it. I give it a 4.8 / 5. A knock out smell that is so unique and intoxicating. Perfect during the day and to help relieve stress, pain, and depression.

It gives you a great burst of energy and ideal before a bunch of mindless chores. Like I said, my focus wasn’t great and wouldn’t try and get work done on this. But an outdoor activity or day trip would be a great pairing and it gives you all the fuel you need!
