Motivating Those Around You With a Positive Word

in #motivation3 years ago

One way to motivate people is to use a positive word of encouragement. If we spend our time with people who are having a bad day, we tend to say something like "Aren't you just tired from all the fighting?" This type of comment will only lead to negativity because it puts a negative spin on things.

It is very easy to become negative in a stressful situation. The stress can make us have a poor opinion of others. We can also take it on ourselves to be negative and yell at people. This is not a good idea because when you do this you will put a strain on your relationship with that individual. When you are able to use a positive word of encouragement, you can show them that you do care about them and want to help them.

It is also important to remember that you don't have to say the exact negative thing. Using a positive word of encouragement can be just as effective as saying the negative. For instance, if Joe Blow is having a bad day, tell him that he sure sucks, but that you are there for him and that you are going to cheer him up. This might not sound like much, but for Joe Blow, this will be a huge boost in his spirits. It will bring him back up when he is down.

Now, when you are talking to Joe Blow, you don't want to be negative. What you can do instead is to use a positive word of encouragement. For example, you can say to Joe Blow," Joe, I am so glad that you called. You are always there to help me." Or, you can even say," Joe, you are an amazing person! I am so glad that I called you."

The key is to use the word that you would actually say to your friend or boss. Don't let the person know what you are talking about. This is probably one of the most effective ways to get your point across without saying anything. Say it with your body. You may lean in close to Joe Blow while you speak, or you may turn your head to the side. Either way, you are communicating that message to him.

What if you aren't around at all while you are talking to Joe Blow? That's okay, too! You can still use the same words, just choose some other adjectives or adverbs to describe what you are saying. For example, instead of saying, "Joe sucks", you can say," He is such a good sport."

Another way to motivate those around you is to use positive affirmations. This is especially useful if you are trying to persuade someone else to do something that is against their own beliefs. Instead of saying, "The boss won't buy that idea," say something like, "I already have the required skills to convince him that it would be a good idea." Or, "That could be a problem if I asked him to change his mind right now." It really doesn't matter what you personally think of the person in question. As long as you believe there is some kind of logic behind what they are trying to do, you can use positive words to get your point across.

Using positive words around people is the easiest way to make them more likely to act in a certain way. If you want to increase your chances of persuading someone else to do something, you need to focus on the positive aspects of that action. Even if you don't agree with the particular course of action, simply making the suggestion to your friend or boss will have them doing the same thing. After all, everyone wants to be treated fairly and everyone loves positive reinforcement!
