How To Teach Your Inner Critic To Be Compassionate

in #motivation3 years ago

One of the things that I have learned in my many years of personal development is that no one wants to be negative. Especially, in this high paced world. And this is where the inner critic comes in. Unfortunately this nagging voice in your head can make you do things that you would not do otherwise. So how do you teach your inner critic to be constructive?

Well, the first thing you need to realize is that the inner critic doesn't want to improve yourself. It is just a way for you to vent your frustration. If you can learn to manage your anger and frustration then you will find that your inner critic can be very useful. You can use it to keep yourself from taking unnecessary risks and doing things that might not work out.

The inner critic can be a very hard habit to break. You may think that it's an asset to your character but ultimately it makes you want to criticize. This is when you start to drift away from the success you desire. This is the main reason why so many people are looking for someone else to teach them how to stop their inner critic.

So, if that's the case then what can you do to help turn your inner critic into a positive resource. Well the first thing that you need to realize is that the inner critic does not want you to become successful. It just wants you to stay where you are now. It wants you to complain and feel bad about the things in your life. The last thing you want is to use your inner critic to keep you from enjoying life. Instead what you need to do is use it as a stepping stone to help you achieve your goals.

So how can you do that? Well the first step is to recognize when you are having a negative inner critic and then stop it immediately. Most people have their inner critic, whether they admit it or not. For some people it can be a very difficult task to break this habit. If your inner critic makes you feel negative about life then you need to find a way to make yourself feel good.

One great way of doing this is to do something that you enjoy such as taking long walks, or just hanging out with your friends. In order to help you do this, you need to develop a positive attitude and learn to let go of any destructive thoughts. One way to teach your inner critic to be constructive is to find someone that you can criticize positively.

This will make you feel good and it will help you start to turn your inner critic into a positive resource. Another way of turning your inner critic into a constructive criticism is to take action. No matter what is going on in your life sometimes it's just more effective to take small steps forward instead of large ones.

One of my favorite comedians says that his inner critic is the one thing that he loves about life. So, if you hate to focus on your inner critic and being negative all the time then what are you waiting for? Start recognizing it and treating it like a member of your own family. Don't allow negative thinking to destroy your life or the things that you love. Remember that everyone has a destructive inner critic but you can use it to your advantage. By teaching your inner critic to be constructive you will be able to turn it into a very useful tool.
