How to Become Aware of Negative Thoughts

in #life3 years ago

The need to become aware of negative thoughts has been around for a long time. In fact, you are already aware of negative thinking. However, it is your unconscious mind that is holding you back from reaching your full potential. This is where the need to neutralize negative thinking comes in.

So, what can we do to become mindful of our thoughts? The first place to start is with ourselves. When we are in the state of consciousness we are more aware of what is happening to us. Being more mindful can help us to be more mindful of the negative thoughts that might be holding us back.

One way to be more mindful of negative thoughts is through journal prompts. Journal prompts are short statements or questions that you answer in your journal every day. They are meant to jolt you out of a negative pattern and get you thinking in a different direction. Many people find that being more mindful of their thought patterns helps them to be more productive in their lives. They get more done in less time.

Another way to become more aware of the negativity bias in your life is to pay attention to your favorite things and then to think about them. Do this several times a day. Think about the bad thing that you are doing or saying about something. When you notice yourself thinking negatively of something you can immediately stop yourself and replace it with a positive thought.

As part one of this three positive affirmations exercise we will take a look at how your self-talk patterns influence your thought processes. Your self-talk is your internal dialogue of your mind with you. Much like an inner dialog with a friend, it is your honest opinion about yourself and your thoughts about yourself. It is a conversation that goes on constantly between you and yourself.

If you find yourself focusing on negative thoughts about anything, you can immediately stop yourself from thinking that way by changing your thoughts into positive ones. This exercise will help you change your negative thinking into positive ones. As you practice changing your negative thoughts into positive ones, you will notice that your mood becomes more uplifted. When you start feeling uplifted you can then begin to notice that negative thinking starts to become less of a problem.

This next exercise is about the little critters that creep up on us while we are day dreaming or in our sleep. It is our imagination running in circles and our thoughts becoming exaggerated. Many people have ants crawling all over them while they are asleep. If you notice that these ants are bugging you while you are trying to sleep, you can try to find and kill and eliminate these pesky creatures.

By learning to listen to your negative thoughts and replace them with more positive ones, you will be able to counter argue against those thoughts. The best way to counterargue is to find something that will make you feel better while doing so. For example, if you are thinking that you are angry at someone you can tell yourself that you are having a bad day and that you are going to get angry at the person. When you do this you will be able to counter argue against the negative thoughts and turn them into something that is more positive.

Another great way to counterargues against negative thoughts and change the way you think about things is to use positive counterarguments. To do this you simply need to find some different things that you can focus on instead of your negative thoughts. For example, if you are focusing on how angry you are at the person that gave you that headache, you can tell yourself that instead of being mad at the person, you need to figure out how you are going to make that headache go away. Then you can redirect your thoughts to the task at hand.

In order to change your negative feelings into positive ones, you first need to change the way you feel about the issue. If you are always feeling angry and upset about something, you will continue to think negative. However, if you take a moment to reflect on the situation and state what a good thing it would be if the other person did not do what he or she did, you would start to see things a little differently. This is similar to how people who have trouble with flying always say that it would be so much better if they fall asleep all the time.

The key to changing your negative thoughts into positive ones is to realize when you are having them and then change your self talk. Your self-talk is very powerful because it is what keeps you going and keeps bad things from taking over your life. If you start to realize that everyone has problems and that you are no different than anyone else, then you will become aware of the tendency to react negatively towards any problem that you may come across in life, whether it is dealing with another person or with an ant.
