Post Rock [part.1]

Many ask Post Rock what is it? what's the music? its features? etc. Here @WorldOfMusic want to try to briefly explain the definition, characteristics, history, and development of Post Rock music.
The term Post Rock was first created by Simon Reynolds when he reviewed his album Bark Psychosis - Hex in 1994, at which time his definition was "Playing non rock music with rock instruments, and preferring texture and timbre rather than power chord" why did I say "that time"? because Post Rock today (modern) has changed or innovated from its original definition, even the opposite.
The first generation :
Bands like Tortoise, Bark Psychosis, Talk Talk, Cul de Sac, Slint, Flying Saucer are the first generation bands to match what is defined by Simon Reynolds, "Playing non-rock music with rock instruments" by incorporating different elements from each band the electronica, ambient, jazz, etc.
Second generation :
year 96 - 97, was born a band called Mogwai who played instrumental rock music. Surprisingly, Mogwai is called the Post Rock band as well. In fact their music is different from what has been defined by Simon Reynolds. Mogwai himself admits this and does not like to say post rock

"Aitchison isn t all grins, however, when asked how he feels about the term post-rock." Mogwai has been lumped into this supposed genre of music by unimaginative music critics It's kind of a stupid term, it doesn t really make much sense I do not know, it seems really pretentious to me A lot of the bands are described as being a post rock You get bands like Tortoise, we re nothing like Tortoise, we re completely different. So it sa pretty vague term It's pretty lazy term, lazy on the media s front .. They don t really know what sort of music it is.If it's not straight-ahead rock n roll, then it's a post rock It's bit miserable, so we ll call it post rock It's stupid. " Source Alas ... even so, Mogwai is one of the template for Post Rock bands now. The Quite / Loud concept they use has become the basic formula of Post Rock music now. So also with the legendary Godspeed You! Black Emperor, who set the formula Crescendo, Chamber music to the modern Post Rock..
