There are lots of valuable leagues out there but in all of them, only a few teams seem to be relevant. This makes the league quite predictable in terms of who we believe would win at the end of the season. What do you think is the reason for this and what can be done about it?

I think the main reason why some teams seems to dominate some leagues is MONEY.
There are several reasons for my saying are few of them are:
Most of these teams that dominant these major league are those that pay their players high amount of salary. For example comparing the amount a Real Madrid players are taking to Real Bestis. One can see clearly that one player from Madrid salary can pay the whole players of Bestis. As a result of these all players who develop from Bestis will want to move to Madrid in other to male a leaving.
The second reason is the money these dominating teams use to buy new players. For example, Aston Villa and Man United trying to get the same player from Sunderland. One can conclude easily that Man United will end up getting the signature of the player before Villa because United might offer huge amount of money the cant be payed by Villa. A lot more reason and examples can be given.
I think one thing can be done to stop this, which is restricting all teams to spend the same amount of money and those who are not having, the FA will find ways of providing it to them to pay later. I guess in this case those teams with huge amount of money cant pursued those small team player them with money to play for them.

Money understand all languages. If you want to make it to the top and compete among the elites, you capital capacity is the most important thing here. Winning the league is complicated at the moment but the squad depth, it can achieve and money makes work faster.
The issue of dominance has been there right from day one. Gone are those days a team will win league like 5-10 times at strength, it has changed because money understand every title and to win it, you need more money.
To put a stop to this act will be difficult and from next season, Newcastle United will become the richest club in the world if they remain in the English Premier League but till then, dominance by few teams will still continue and there is nothing anybody can do about except you make more money in your teams.
Well said, I think it mostly has to do with lack of finances too.
Para mí mucho se debe al dinero que poseen estos equipos, eso provoca que puedan comprar a los mejores jugadores del mundo para forzar un equipo más competitivo en comparación con los otros clubes que poseen menos recursos, todo eso repercute también en las categorías inferiores, porque pueden tener una mejor formación de los jugadores y así también crear grandes futbolistas para que luego lleguen al equipo de primera o puedan ser vendidos a otros equipos por buena suma de dinero.
También teniendo los mejores futbolistas, llenan más los stadium, reciben más patrocinio y más ingresos por los medios televisivos. Todo eso queda en un impacto muy positivo en lo económico que sigue moviendo la ola de gran dominio frente a sus rivales, por ende creo que todo se debe al dinero, porque así igualmente contratan a los mejores entrenadores y cuerpos técnicos de gran calidad en cada área. Conclusión: Dinero.

We've seen cases in football league where it seems like only a few teams dominate the league. The teams makes other teams look mid, and therefore making the leagues boring and awful to watch. Some of the causes of this few teams dominating a league is the huge financial capability which they posse. If we tell ourselves the truth, fiance plays a major role in football as the higher the money a club possess they can easily lure world class players into there teams making them stronger and better. One of the things that can be done to cure this dominance is for teams to ensure that the fifa fair play policy is highly adhered to.

If we look at the top five European league, we will observed that the uefa champions league have been won by this teams in the European top league compare to other league. The consistency of some of this team and their market value chain are the major reason they will continue to dominate the uefa champions league. Now let's proceed to start with English Premier league. Manchester City, Liverpool and Chelsea have been performing excellently for the past five years. The likes of Manchester United and arsenal are just been gambling with we shall perform better next season phrase. The reality is money speaks volume of success.
