In the business section of TheStar, Steem was mentioned as being disruptive to Facebook. The article went on to explain how users are basically incentivized with their every participation.
Is this the beginning of more to come?
Reminds me of this post all the way back from 2011...Questioning the fate of facebook...predicting the same fate of myspace as a new platform would emerge that supported the people and you could become a millionaire from.

Facebook and Twitter should be concerned. It may prompt Zuck to launch his own crypto sooner than later. I was up at facebook in Dec and ran into him. I almost told him I was on steem now but bit my tongue. I wanted to talk about other things and not how I've gotten my head out of the sand lol.

facebook is going great but we need few improvements like chat like the feed is going to much fast with in seconds posts are disappear so i hope steemit can manage this all
We aren't competing with Facebook right now. We don't even have a chat feature. You can't make a comment without it being logged as a post. They have a lot to change and update before we can even be in the same realm as Facebook.
Don't get me wrong, I love Steemit and am enjoying this so far...but we aren't even on Facebook's radar. If we get out of Beta and onto some sort of actual release, that is a step in the right direction. This may just be a proof of concept or something. Way to get a lot of people doing a lot of transactions on the blockchain.
We will see. I am invested so I want this to succeed.
ya - that chat feature is a huge point....maybe the killer app. wechat in china comes to mind...and also telegram as players who are working that angle really well...and telegram has built a boatload of money on their new ico...collected a shit ton in presales...
