Bitcoin "Hurts" Government Control of USD
There was a bit of a slip up as US Senator Brad Sherman began to lose control of his rhetoric about Bitcoin...He started going into the point of how Bitcoin doesn't help the Government control the World...I mean the USD as the reserve currency for trade around the world. He cut himself short and bumbled into a stream of consciousness:
They’re popular with those who have read ‘Atlas Shrugged’ and ‘[The] Fountainhead’ and believe that these are the new cannons – they new divinely-inspired documents of our age.
It hurts the US government in two ways: our contr… our ability to have the US dollar as the chief means of international finance is what has underpinned our ability to impose sanctions
BITCOIN - US Senator, "It Hurts Our Power and Control over Fiat"
We live in very interesting times where the media can be very telling in rather unexpected ways. Specifically where the emotional suppressions....the angst and irritation just pops out so to speak.
Many of these regulators are being challenged in ways they haven't been challenged for the entirety of their career.
Say you worked a job for the majority of your adult life...only to later realize the ways in which you viewed your life...the possibilities of the world...and the way you've maybe enforced the direction.....has been quite limited and even biased. It can be a tough pill to swallow....as well....Change isn't always easy for an old dog.
Recently a friend responded to me as a a fun fact and reminder on change...specifically Big World Change:
You're going to see quite significant change over the course of 20 years.....it's simple the old generations die off...
- There's a real paradigm shift here in the way we value and regard resources on the planet.
STEEM ON
I have to wonder what the US will look like in 20 years. I have a difficult time imagining a strong US dollar continuing into 2038, but if I lived in 1964, I probably couldn't imagine the US dollar continuing holding value into 2018 (when we all would have flying cars). @ironshield
indubitably @ironshield indubitably
:)
BTC is 1/3rd of my capital.
Keep STEEM N ON,
Frank
Yrs it is hurting goverments, bitcoin is just like robinhood who steals from rich and gives for poor.
that's a really cool analogy - crypto is the money for people - powered by people!
i love seeing them slightly panicked and irritated. FUD works both ways
fud definitely does go both ways - haha
I hear you 100%
This guy doesn't understand the difference between currency speculation and traditional investing. Sounds like he has no idea what he's talking about. Ignorance at its finest. Congressman Brad Sherman is shameful and despicable. Hoping for a terrorism event funded by a crypto just to disprove cryptocurrency? What currency did he think funds the most terrorism, drugs, and tax evasion? US Dollar?
spot on analysis my friend!
I love how crypto's intensify the exposure to the inadequacies of our world monetary system.
I mean it's pretty incredible that we can even discuss these things on a platform without being too concerned about some central authority coming and saying "hey you aren't allowed to expose corruption.."
its true with BTC the US cant control the world and that is a good thing, we need power moved from a few individual and given to the masses and that is where blockchain and cryptos come in
100% Agree
Yes that ia true.this is the current problem every country has they want to save fiat.
i have been informing people that this will definitely become a reality this year, I've been called an optimist, but my work is an analyst and the numbers never lie :)
awesomeness
The USA will do everything possible to reverse that. Strongly hit the crypto business but there will be the key moment to produce new fortunes.
Governments can ban Bitcoin

But the ban can't be very effective. So, commonly, they use other manner to deter Bitcoin possession and buying and selling.
