How to mail Gift Cards through the U.S.P.S. during Christmas 🎄

This is the 1st blog in a series of Postal Mailing tips published by retired "Loose in the mail" specialist Bruni. San Antonio Texas.

If you are mailing gift cards in a Christmas card or letter size envelope, just mail the actual card, not the packaging.

Never, I repeat never, send the receipt with the gift card. It's very hard to recover a gift card without the purchase receipt.

Never put To: Billy From: Grandpa on the gift card. It would be very hard to identify the correct gift card with just this minimal information.

Always try to tape the gift card, to the Christmas card or envelope, so that it will not slide around.

Always try to attach one of those free address labels to each gift card. You know the ones you get from the American Cancer Society or Wildlife Fund of America, etc.

If your grandkids are not in the habit of sending thank you cards, just ask the parents if the gifts were received.

There were plenty of times where the grandparents didn't know that the gift cards never made it to the kids and vice versa.

The Postal Service returns thousands of dollars in gift cards yearly. If by chance yours comes up missing, just don't assume the postman stole it.
