The things you miss
Last year, while planning to build a computer lab in the Ashanti region of Ghana, I foresaw a fault in the solution we implemented. See we designed the lab to utilise a class c network with all the computers on the LAN enabled to share resources. There was no network storage for the student's data. I figured, these guys have never had computers before let's see what happens.
However, when the cats away, the mice will play. On my return to Okogyesuo school in Kokofu, I found nearly all the machines had a bit-torrent client of some sort installed and the disk capacity on all the machines was in the red.
The solution. Western Digital's Mycloud Ex2Ultra. This thing changed the game. We are now able to use network storage for the students, allowing them to move independently between machines to complete their assignment, instead of being stuck on the same machine, the Plex Server feature allows us to share lectures to students from our digital library even when they are not on the school's network. And the content management and PHP/MySql facilities are perfect tools for budding young engineers to play with. Thank you Western Digital
