The Diary Game [ September 17th,2022 ]: Attendimg A Workshop

Greetings to all the amazing steemians on this great platform.Today is an exciting day ,after 1week of lockdown is my location declared by the separatists.The town is open today ,I was happy and exited that at least people will be able to go out and carry out their activities after one week of ghost town being indoors at home .

My day started at 6:00am ,I had a programmed to attend a workshop starting at 8:30am organized by an international ,Non governmental organization called PLAN.I was invited through mail to attend their workshop .After preparing breakfast for my kids ,I started preparing my self for the workshop .

At 8:00am, I was done I went to the roadside bordered cab to the location of the venue where the workshop was to take place .I arrived in the hall when places were already dressed but only few participants were still present .I sat down on the chair .While waiting for the organizers to come and start with the workshop .In few minutes the everyone was there .Majority of the people apologized of coming late due to traffic.

Exactly at 9:00am the workshop started . They shared us books,Agenda of the workshop and pens for writing We all presented ourselves in hall .The first speaker talked on how the creation of PLAN NGO came about ,The Objectives of PLAN and And their areas of Emergency Intervention .The presentation was interesting and worth teaching .

We had to take break and take breakfast at 11:00am before the next presenter can came up with her presentation .We went to a different hall to take our fast .Everyone was given 10minutes
to take breakfast.we had varieties of foods for breakfast.I went to the table served fried spaghetti,bread ,boiled egg and Apple as my breakfast.

After taking my breakfast,I had to move to hall and wait for the next presentation .The next presentation was done by the e Gender officer for PLAN organization based on GBV .The Causes of Gender based violence ,Enabling factors.These topics were very interacting, participantsContributing and True life cases were shared.

This was so Shocking and pathetic to know how many girls and women are suffering out there because violence and sexually abused every blasted day .we discussed a lot how to managed such cases or do referrals to the appropriate place in case you are not a specialist in Managing cases.

Our last presentation was based on IASC six main core principles Related to Human exploitation and abuse,Reason for grooming and the principle of Safeguarding.After the was question and answer session.At 3:30pm the workshop ended .Participants were given T shirts,bags and face caps.We all had groups pictures.

Around 4pm we had another reception.There was varieties of foods to eats .I went to the table served Ndole,yams and a bit of fried rice and ate .After, we were all shared envelopes with money inside as our transport .The package was huge that I was not expecting such amount could be given to the us .

I left from there boarded a cab back to my destination.I was very tired and exhausted for the day ,I went to the bathroom and freshened up .Went to bed by calling it a day .

My day was really a great one not only attending workshops organized by PLAN international but I learned a lot from other local NGO participants most especially on Gender based Violence (GBV) .Children’s and Women’s rights and equality for girls.
