Starting a new job this week.
I've been self-employed since last April when I left Apple, Inc as a Tier 2 Tech Support Advisor. It was a home-based position, so I was able to work out of my own home office. Pretty cool, right?
Well, I'm about to embark on a new job......doing the exact same thing. I'll be taking tech support calls from Apple device owners, likely just iOS and Mac, and then the longer I'm there they'll expand me out to other devices, like AppleTV or Beats by Dre.
The difference this time, however, is that I've accepted the position via a third-party contractor. So I won't actually be working directly for Apple. The pay is a structured differently, but at this point that's okay because it's the only position I could find where I'd be able to work from home. The gas savings is amazing, I'll be home for my breaks and lunches/dinners, and I'll be able to look out my window to my backyard where I can see my son playing.
Also, while most people seem to wince at the thought of doing tech support, the majority of the callers are great to deal with. They're calling for help, and 8 or 9 times out of 10 I can get the problem resolved, so for that 10 minutes or so I am that caller's new best friend.
I start orientation tomorrow, and my first real day of training begins next Monday. Most of it will likely just be a refresher course, but it'll be nice to see what's been updated since I left.

Thats great Sir
Congratulations to you
Wish you best of luck!!!
Congratulations to you
Best of luck Winston, sounds like a great opportunity.
Perfect attitude! I wish I would just have people like you on support hotlines and so on! Have a great day at home and seeing your son grown up:)
This is awesome. I always wanted to work at home. but unfortunately my job is not suitable. I'm an accountant. I can only imagine. There is no chance of being true. :) very lucky the home office is excellent. most importantly no traffic congestion. I wish the success to continue
good luck with your new position! :)
Good luck man. I work from home too and for the most part I love it (and you do save a ton in gas expenses). :)
Being one of those lucky 8 or 9 callers is such a nice feeling, the relief of getting something fixed without any real hassle. Must be pretty satisfying on your end too, I bet. And from home to boot! Gas money becomes vintage camera money?...
Road trip money. :)
