I. Just. Can't. Stop.
Say hello to the Argus C3, affectionately known as "The Brick".

I found this little guy for $10, just like yesterday's camera. I couldn't pass that up.

According to Wiki:

The Argus C3 was a low-priced rangefinder camera mass-produced from 1939 to 1966 by Argus in Ann Arbor, Michigan, United States. The camera sold about 2 million units, making it one of the most popular cameras in history. Due to its shape, size, and weight, it is commonly referred to as "The Brick" by photographers (in Japan its nickname translates as "The Lunchbox"). The most famous 20th-century photographer who used it was Tony Vaccaro, who employed this model during World War II.

According to my serial number, this camera was manufactured in 1956.

I haven't yet had a chance to see if it's fully functional, but I do know the shutter works, so there's hope. The viewfinder is pretty small, as well as dirty, so it's pretty difficult to see through. All the knobs seems to turn how they're supposed to, so after I get it cleaned up then hopefully I'll be able to put a roll of film through it soon. And you know I'll be posting those images here when I do. :)

heyy i've got that same one!!

There's a hell of a history behind that model. Look up Tony Vaccaro.

I like this one. Looks like the ones the newspaper photographers used to carry. Neat piece!

A beautiful piece- i hope you get to use it.

Dang, that's a beautiful piece. And if you can get bulbs for it... Hope it still works! :)

The flash detaches and I don’t plan to use it. I mainly just want to see how well it works with ambient light.

Either way, could be really really cool :) Something visceral about using old school gear and having to rely more on your mind than a computers.

Mhn this is one historical beauty, ild love to see its picture quality at its best if it works

That is awesome!!! Love it, I wouldn't have left it either, fingers crossed it works, I'll love to see what it does. I have a heap of old cameras but I haven't bothered to see if they still work, maybe I should be!
