Step By Step Henna Mandala
Hi Friends! Today I want to show you how I construct a Henna Mandala! I’ve been a henna artist for about 5-6yrs. I picked up my first Henna cone in 2010 and after falling in love with the art form and natural process of the dyeing I started to Henna ‘professionally’ in about 2012.
The Mandala that I want to share with you today is my ‘go-to’ Mandala when I’m at an appointment and am henna’ing guests with freestyle designs, or need to start a belly Mandala. I use it a lot as it is a comfortable shape and pattern to me.
all my designs are original unless stated otherwise
So I start with a central dot and then I circle it and add a neat row of humps. I start to section out my pattern by placing dots at the top, bottom, side and side (north south east west) so that I get a solid foundation and that my Mandala will grow evenly and not lop-sided. This is so important!
I fill out the dots and outline them. Thick lines then thin.
Next I add in my little teardrops. I start with a thick dot and drag it to the center to create a drop-like shape.
I outline these teardrops...thick and thin lines again.
Next come the humps. Humps are so great at adding lace and detail as well as smoothing out imperfections!
And finally the dots! These finish off the Mandala and add the extra ‘wow’ of completion :)
So there you go :) My step By Step guide to creating a Henna Mandala!
Have a great day everyone!
Peace out creators!!
