[Food] Geum Namaks - Seoul, Korea
This place is a hidden gem known mostly to those who work around Yongsan, Seoul.
They cater to the exhausted souls thirsty for some somaek (a cocktail of soju, Korean distilled rice wine, and beer) after a long day or work.
To us Koreans, the food that accompanies our drinks (Anju, in Korean) is as important as the drinks themselves.
Geum Namaks, stowed away in a quiet corner once removed from the office towers, is the perfect place for those who already have had dinner but still need to unwind with a few drinks and some light food.
They specialize in fish jerkies.
I know that sounds super weird, but trust me, nothing goes better with the crisp mouthfeel of somaek than salty-savoury dried fish lightly grilled over coal.
The atmosphere is homey and unpretentious, with just the right amount of neglect.
Opening hours are
M-F 17:00 - 02:00
