Single mom alienates sons with sexist rants about men

I read this article in which a woman claims that all men are dangerous or unsafe. In that article, she cites another article where she says "anyone who isn’t with us is against us. Particularly, and especially, men. Even my own sons".

Apparently she was raped and sexually abused and now has a victim-turned-crusader complex. Judging by her writing, she sees the world through a myopic lens in which she never feels safe, everything is spun as mysogyny or rape culture, and it's the fault of all men.

I feel sorry for her and her sons. I hope she gets some counseling for herself and them. She probably doesn't realize that she's traumatizing them with her trauma. I can relate to her sons. I grew up around a bunch of sexist women both at home and in society at large. I had to attend sexual harassment training at school and every time I started a new job. I grew up afraid to even look at a woman for fear of being charged with sexual harassment. I was made to feel that I am part of some rape culture cult and that I'm a potential rapist, all because I am male.

Normally, I wouldn't write about this topic or even read this type of article but the fact that it appeared in my news feed and was picked up by the Washington Post made me think this is widespread and pervasive. I dug a little deeper and found some internet meme called men going their own way(MGTOW). From wikipedia "MGTOW believe that there is a systemic gynocentric bias against men including double standards in gender roles, bias against men in family courts, lack of concern for men falsely accused of rape and lack of consequences for their accusers.". This growing movement is world-wide but more predominant in Western countries like US, UK, AU, etc. When I was living abroad, I actually met many men who went their own way, although they didn't call it that. Most of them were divorced and had bad relationships with western women. Almost all of them preferred to live in third-world countries, even matriarchies. Many of them married local women and are happily married decades later. Apparently these local women like Western men because they are nice, thoughtful, caring, non-abusive, non-rapists, non-rape-culturists, non-sexual-harassers, etc.

I wonder if there is a connection between women alienating men and men going their own way? You decide.
