금요일 저녁 모든 일을 마치고 친구와 함께 사파로 향하는 슬리핑버스 정류장에서 버스를 기다렸다. 사파로 가는 버스가 참 많았다. 하지만 우리가 탈 버스는 한참 지나서야 도착했다. 나는 사파를 4년전에 한번 가 본적이 있다. 그 기억은 아직까지 내 머릿속에 있다. 창문을 열면 구름이 내 밑에 있고 끝을 알 수 없는 경사 그리고 햇빛 아직도 그 기억은 생생하다. 구름속에 아침을 먹었던 그 날이 말이다. 또한 사파에서 오토바이를 역주행으로 타다 경찰에게 잡혔던 기억 그리고 그 친구와 친구가 되서 저녁에 초대되고 가족들과 밥을 같이 먹었던 그러한 기억들 아직도 생생하다 호치민 노래를 거기서 배웠었지 아마... 그러한 기대를 안고 저녁 10시 버스를 타고 고요한 사파의 아침을 볼 기대를 하고 버스안에서 잠을 청했다.

After I finished every Friday work I've met my friend on a night and wait for the sleeping bus heading to Sa Pa. There was a lot of bus heading to Sa Pa. However the bus we booked come after a while. Actually, I've been Sa Pa almost 4 years before. And still, the memory floating over my head. The endless mountain slope which I can see under the white cloud and the sunlight. Having breakfast over the cloud. Even there is a remember like I've caught by local police since I drove the bike different way but eventually, we've been a friend and he invited me to his house and had a dinner with her family. Yeah, I've learned Ho Chi Minh song from her Mom. This fabulous memory makes me expect more about my second visit to city above the cloud.

버스에 내리니 4년전과 다를게 없었다. 수많은 안개로 인하여 한치 앞도 볼 수 없었고 날씨 또한 고산지대에 있다보니 하노이에서 전혀 느낄수 없던 서늘함이 느껴졌다. 사파가 베트남에서 유일하게 눈이 내리는 지역이다. 이번에 예약한 호텔은 4년전에 내가 묶었던 호텔과 다른 호텔이였기에 길을 찾아 나서야했다.하지만 사파의 길은 전혀 바뀌지 않았고 이 길을 오토바이를 타고 기분좋게 다녔던 기억이 머리속에 남아 있기에 쉽게 호텔을 찾을 수 있었다. 다른점은 사람이 정말 많아졌다. 건물도 많이 올라가고 있었고 엄청 빨리 발전 중이라는 느낌을 받았다. 호텔에 도착했도 체크인 할 수 있는 시간이 한참 남아 체크인을 할 수 없었다. 우리가 출발한 시각은 금요일 10시고 도착한 시간은 다음날 아침 6시다. 그래서 오토바이를 빌려 사파를 투어하기로 했다.

I woke up in the bus surrounded by the dark. The scene I can saw out side of window was the same scene I had seen 4 years ago. After I got off from the bus white fog welcome me so I can't even see a far. Oh, and Sa Pa is the only one place can see the snow in Vietnam. The hotel I made a reservation was not the same hotel I had stayed before so I need to find out the hotel. I still remember the way I had taken a bike when I was in Sa Pa and it was super unique so I can find the hotel easily.The different thing I felt was there were much more people hanging around and a lot of building probably new hotels were being built. Finally, I reached hotel but the time was only 6 AM so I needed to wait until I can check in. so I decided to borrow the bike with my friend and hang around Sa Pa

산으로 !

Go up Mountain

길은 하나도 변하지 않았고 그 아름다움을 그대로 간직하고 있었다. 4년전 여행에서 봤던 고산학교, 고산마을, 경치 그리고 폭포까지 그대로 그림안에 담겨 있었다. 사파 시내에 있을땐 비가 많이 왔지만 오토바이를 타고 산을 올라가면 갈수록 비는 그치고 정상에 도착했을때는 햇빛을 볼 수 있었다. 이 기분은 정말 말로 설명하기 힘들다. 4년전에 봤던 학교에도 가보고 4년전에 내가 찍었던 장소도 가보고, 바뀐게 하나 있다면 도로가 정말 나빠졌다.... 4년전 도로는 정말 깨끗하고 깔금 했는데 지금의 도로는 움푹 들어간 곳도 많고 깨진곳도 많다. 친구에게 이야기하니 정부가 부패해서 그렇다고 한다. 우리나라였으면 난리 났을텐데 말이다... 구름위에서 오토바이를 타고 햇빛을 받으며 아래를 내려다보는 그 기분은 정말 말로 설명할 수가 없다. 이번에는 친구와 함께 내가 지난번 갔던 곳보다 더 가서 결국 산을 한바퀴 타고 다른곳으로 내려와 사파로 다시 향했다.  경사도 너무 가파르고 도로도 좁고  도로의 질도 좋지 않아 왠만하면 추천하고 싶진 않지만 그런곳을 보는것도 진정한 사파를 느끼기엔 좋은것 같다. 

The road wasn't changed and the beautiful view didn't change either they keep having their own beauty. The school on the top of the mountain, village, waterfall, and view. Sa Pa still keeping that picture. The only difference was a road. It changed suck. Before I was in Sa Pa road was so good and nice. But now there is too many hole and dimple. Anyway, still, the view was fantastic. When I and my friend were in the Sa Pa downtown it rained a lot. However the higher we go up by bike the brighter weather changed. It means we are going to the cloud. It is really hard to explain seeing raining over the cloud getting shining sunlight. This time I went much farther than before. I even went down another side of the mountain and come back Sa Pa again. But the road was too tilted and the road was terrible even too narrow. So I do not recommend that way but If you feel unique feeling and want to see real Sa Pa it will be super awesome.

깟깟마을

Cat Cat village

산을 한바퀴 타고 내려와서 시간을 보니 아직 12시다. 체크인 할 시간은 2시간이 남았다. 친구와 함께 껌빙전 우리나라로 치면 백반을 먹고 사파의 깟깟마을로 향했다. 깟깟마을을 들어가니 정말 사람이 많아졌다. 4년전에 왔을땐 외국인도 별로 없고해서 아이들이 나를 따라다니고 했는데 이제는 외국인이 더 많아진것 같다. 그리고 정말 기념품 상점이 많아졌다. 역시 돈 앞에 장사 없다더니, 내가 지난번 갔을때는 그 곳 사람들이 정말 거기서 생활하는 모습을 보고 즐길수 있었다면, 이제는 그러한 생활이 아니라 그저 물건을 팔기위해 집앞에 기념품들을 진열해논 집들 밖에 보이지 않았다. 약간 실망스러웠지만 그래도 그 사람들의 전통복을 보는 것은 하나의 즐거움이였다. 사파는 많은 부족들이 모여사는 고산 마을인데 부족마다 옷의 모양과 색깔도 다 다르다.  

After finished the ride and come back to Sa Pa downtown the time was 12 and still 2 hours left until I can check in. So we ate com binh danh and go to Cat Cat village. There were a lot of people inside Cat Cat village. There were no many foreigner before I came here, so the Kids followed me while I am sightseeing. but now they don't care about me. So many  souvenir store greeting me and my friend. 4 years ago there wasn't have  souvenir store like now. Money changing every thing, And it was quite disappointed that I can't see natural life of how they living. Still seeing their beautiful traditional clothes, Sa Pa is the place a lot of tribe living together so they have their own tribe traditional clothes. ,was fantastic and awesome.

신기한 우연

Coincidence

깟깟마을 맨 밑 폭포수 근처에서 발에 물을 담구고 있는데 마치 신선이 된것 같았다. 앞에는 아이들이 옷도 안입고 물놀이를 즐기고 있고 옆에는 관광온 학생들이 전통복을 입고 사진을 찍고 있었다. 여기서 정말 나도 놀라운 일이 하나 벌어졌다. 그 전통복을 입은 친구들중 내가 아는 친구가 있던것이다. 전통복을 입은 친구에게 사진좀 찍어달라고 부탁하는 중에 어떤 친구가 내 이름을 말하면서 맞냐고 물어보는것이 아닌가? 정말... 베트남 사파 그것도 깟깟마을 폭포옆에서 베트남에 몇 없는 친구를 만나는것도 정말 힘든데 말이다. 소름이 돋아 말도 안나왔다. 이 친구는 나의 하남 누나 사촌동생의 친구다. 1년전에 베트남에 놀러왔을때 다 같이 샤브샤브를 만들어 먹었던 친구다. 친구에게 다른 친구들은 어디갔냐고 물으니 고향에 내려갔단다. 하남이다. 내가 그 곳을 2주전에 놀러갔으니 그것도 그 친구의 친구집을 말이다... 세상을 정말 좁은것 같다는것을 다시 한번 느꼇다. 그 친구는 학교 친구들와고 MT 같은것을 왔단다. 어쨋든 그 친구와 만남을 뒤로하고 우리는 체크인을 하기 위해 호텔로 다시 향했다.

Putting the feet under the water and feel the coldness, wind and sun was like having a drug, The drug made my nature.  Kids was playing in the water without wearing something and smiling like a angle, and some students were taking a picture wearing traditional Sa Pa tribe clothes, Probably Hmoung tribe's clothes.In that time something I never ever thought happen. I met my friend over there... I only have just 15~25 friends in Vietnam, and I've met him in Sa Pa in Cat Cat village and even near waterfall.... What is this coincidence. I felt world is small again. He came here with his college friends. He is my sister's cousin's friend and He and I cooked dinner at my sister's house 1 year before...  I asked him where your friend go? and he said he is in his hometown , hometown that I WENT 1 WEEK AGO.  Anyway I said goodbye and have fun to him and we headed to our Hotel. 

호텔 업그레이드 그리고 또 다른 우연

Room Upgrade + Hotel Upgrade and another coincidence

오보타이를 타고 호텔로 돌아와 체크인을 할려고 하니 매니저가 정말 미안하다면서 호텔방에 뜨거운 물이 나오지 않아 바로 옆에 있는 호텔로 자기내들이 연락해 방을 구해놨다고 거기를 이용해 줄 수 있냐고 물어보는것이 아닌가.. 뭐 뜨거운물이 안나오는데 어떻하겠는가.. 알았다고 하고 다른 호텔로 향했다. 그곳에서 또 신기한 일이 벌어졌다... 4년전에 내가 묶었던 호텔 직원이 여기서 매너지로 일하는고 있던것이였다... 정말 신기했다. 그 친구에게 너가 그 사람이 맞냐고 물어보니 정확하게 맞단다. 친구와 함께 방을 들어가보니 그렇게 썩 좋지 않았다. 산도 잘 보이지도 않고 내가 처음에 예약했던 방이 더 좋아보였다. 하지만 그때 프론트에서 다른 좋은 방이 있는데 예약이 안되서 그리로 옮겨준다고 전화가 왔다. 내가 4년전에 만났던 그 친구의 목소리다. 솔직히 약간 신뢰가 갔다. 방을 들어가보니... 코너룸에 스위트룸이다. 이건 뭐 횡재나 다름없는 내 인생 처음이자 마지막 룸 업그레이드였다. 코너룸에 전망도 완전좋고 방도 코너룸이라 엄청나게 넓었다. 세면대에 있는 수도꼭지는 내 인생 본적도 없는 수도꼭지고 샤워를 하면서 바깥 경치도 볼 수 있어서 정말 좋았다. 저녁에 친구와 발코니에서 이야기하는 것도 하나의 경험이였다. 산에 올라갈 필요없이 그냥 호텔에서 보는 사파 자체만으로도 그림같고 멋졌다. 저녁에 친구와 사파를 돌아다니기 위해 잠을 청했다. 5시 부터 일어나서 돌아다니다보니 잠도 바로 왔다. 

At the time we try to check in hotel after we arrived hotel, manager of this hotel asked me sorrily that "The hot water isn't coming out from the room you booked sir, so It is fine we can change your room to another hotel??" Well, first time I thought what da hell is this... My mind thought like 'No hot water that would be more terrible' So I said "if it is ,there is no choice" and let them change my hotel. And prayed to God I can have much more better room. The manager of the hotel I booked bring me to another hotel and weirdly I saw a man who worked hotel that I stayed 4 years before. And I asked him "Are you the guy who worked in Hmuong hotel?" and he said exactly. It was super weird that I met 2 people that I've known in Vietnam. Anyway they brought us to room but it was super disappointed. I can't even see the view of the mountain in the Sa Pa, the mountain view is the only reason I came here!!!! In that time front call me and ask "There is some empty room no one booked and someone will bring you there hope you like that room" It was the man I shake hand and talk about 4 years before. He was a manager of this Hotel. So I had a little bit of expectation. And I was right!!!! The room was suit room which showing great view of Sa Pa mountain!!!! It was the biggest room upgrade I've ever had!! Actually In this room I can see much more great scene than I can see in the top mountain. This kind of view and room upgrade made me and my friend much more high, But we were too tired to do something. Eventually we got a slept.

사파의 저녁

Night of Sa Pa

일어나 친구와 함께 Suits 라는 미드를 한편 때렸다. 친구가 변호사라 이 미드를 소개시켜주니 정말 재미있다고 한다. 시간이 조금 흘러 저녁을 먹으러 밖으로 나가니 해는 져가고 있고 어둠이 점점 사파에 드리운다. 사파 그 본연의 아름다움은 변하지 않았다. 어둠속에서 많은 불빛들이 사파를 밝혀 더 아름답게 만들어주었다. 오늘이 토요일 저녁이라 정말 많은 상인들이 물건을 팔러 사파 시내까지 나왔다. 오토바이를 타면서 산을 타면 그들이 어디서 부터 짐을 가지고 내려오는지 알 수있다. 정말 먼 거리를 걸어서 사파 시내까지 내려온다. 상인들은 빼곡하고 돗자리를 펴 물건을 진열해놓고 관광객들은 물건들을 구경하고 흥정하는 모습이 보인다. 신기한점은 4년전엔 동양인 관광객을 아예 볼 수가 없었는데 지금은 한국사람도 보이고 일본사람도 보인다. 사파가 점점 유명세를 타고 있는 모양이긴 한가보다. 어쨋든 시내에서 지갑과 가방을 샀다. 지갑 20,000동 (1000원) 가방 80,000동(3500원) 짜리를 사기위해 30분을 돌아다니며 전쟁을 치뤘다. 이것은 나 자신과의 혈투다. 여행을 많이 다니면서 단련된 나의 흥정실력을 내 스스로 검증하고 싶었다. 아주머니들을 만나면서 평균 가격을 확인후 할인폭을 확인했다. 비슷한 품목이 상인들 사이에 존재한다는 것을 간파한 나는 그것을 이용해 "아 저기선 싼데 왜 여긴 비싸요" 방법을 쓰기 시작했다. 그래서 100,000동 어치를 70,000동에 구매했다. 지금 생각하면 1500원밖에 할인 받지 못했는데 그냥 살껄하는 생각도 잠깐 든다. 

After darkness swamp Sa Pa we hanged out. But darkness can't swamp the beauty of the Sa Pa it made Sa Pa more brighter and cooler. The lighting coming out from hotel or restaurant make Sa Pa twinkle like star. That day was Saturday so a lot of merchant selling their product. And I know how far they living and how long it takes to come down here to their house, if they come down from the top mountain it will takes more than 3 hours bring that heavy burden. They showed off their product make foreigner can buy it. Any weird thing was I can even see a lot of East Asian over there. I've can not even seen East Asian like Korean or Japanese when I was in Sa Pa 4 years before but now? There was a lot. I've also bought a wallet and a beg. They seems super cool and cute. It cost almost 100,000vnd but I bargained really well so I eventually bought in 70,000vnd !!!!

저녁 사냥

Dinner

사파는 외국인들이 많이 숙박하는 경치가 좋은 지역과 베트남 사람이 많이 숙박하는 시내 주변으로 나뉜다. 외국인들이 많이 숙박하는곳엔 외국인들을 위한 양식들이 많이 있고 베트남 사람들이 많이 있는곳엔 로컬음식들이 많다. 사파 시내로 연기가 뭉개 뭉개 피어오른다. 바로 꼬치구이 집이다. 유혹을 이기지 못하고 꼬치구이 집에서 꼬치를 몇개 먹어버렸다... 친구에게 물어보니 한 1.5배 정도 하노이에 비해 가격이 비싸다고 한다. 역시 관광지는 다 똑같다. 꼬치를 맛있게 물어뜯고 사파 중심에 있는 호수를 구경하다 본격적으로 저녁을 먹으러 음식점 사냥에 나섰다. 그중 가장 눈에 들어온것은 바로 피자집이다. 피자집 앞에가서 메뉴를 구경하니 거기 있던 종업원이 나에게 한국말로 인사한다. 장난으로 중국말로 대답했더니 종업원이 당황해 한다. 나중에 다시 한국말로 이야기하니 웃으면서 왜 장난쳤냐고 물어본다. 인상도 좋고 잘생긴 종업원이였다. 그래서 그 음식점에서 먹기로 마음먹고 들어가니 한국사람도 거기에 있었다. 어쨋든 음식을 시키고 종업원에게 어떻게 내가 한국 사람이냐고 물었더니 한국 사람들은 다 잘생기고 이쁘게 생겼다고 한다. 나도 형이 잘생겨서 여기 들어왔다고 하니 막 웃는다. 피자와 파스타를 시켜 먹었는데 분위기 때문인지, 질은 별로 좋아보이진 않았지만한국에서 먹는것 보다 더 맛있었다. 그 후 숙소로 돌아오면서 내일 하노이로 돌아갈 티켓을 예약해달라고 리셉션에 말하고 숙소로 돌아와 그냥 잠에 빠져버렸다. 너무 아침부터 일어나 돌아다녀 몸이 피곤했던 모양이다. 

Sa Pa has two different place. First one is for foreigner. This place has a lot of hotels have a great view, the other one is for Vietnamese, for the local. This place has a lot of store and restaurant for Vietnamese. There was a lot of white smog   made by Vietnamese. It was grilled skewers! I always ate grilled skewers when I traveled China and now I can see Vietnamese style.The smog coming out from there seduce me to try. It was awesome eating outside like that. But the price was quite expensive 1.5x than Hanoi. Anyway we finished eating that one. We hunted restaurant which we can have a dinner. Grilled pork and vegetable is just appetizer for me lol. We just stood up and saw the menu front of the pizza restaurant, suddenly waiter who advertising their restaurant said hello me using Korean. I don't know how the man who working in that restaurant knows that I am Korean. So I replied with other language and that made his face a little bit weird. But after I told him I am just trolling you I am Korean, he made a smile. Anyway we entered this restaurant and we ordered spaghetti and pizza which was so good ,not because the taste the atmosphere was so good.  And we came back to hotel and had some sleep. We were too tired since we hanged around from almost 5 am..

아침

Morning

아침에 일어나서 커튼을 치니... 정말.. 말로 표현할 수가 없다. 구름이 내 밑에서 떠다니고 있다. 마치 신이 된 느낌?? 하지만 역시 내가 사파에서 가장 황홀했던 순간은 아침을 구름위에서 먹었던 기억이다. 친구를 깨우고 잔뜩 기대감을 같고 조식을 먹으러 갔다. 역시나 사파는 기대를 저버리지 않았다. 조식의 질은 호텔의 질만큼 좋지 않았다. 제공되는 음식도 한 20개 밖에 되지 않았다. 하지만 경치 만큼은 나를 배신하지 않았다. 구름위에서 먹는 아침. 생각만으로 나를 기분좋게 만든다. 산에서 먹는 라면, 배에서 먹는 회 그보다 더 멋진건 구름 위에서 먹는 아침이다. 해가 올라오고 구름이 더 많아진다. 구름 밑에는 구름으로 인한 그림자가 보인다. 창밖을 보면 그냥 그림이 그려져있는 느낌이다. 

The View of the Sa Pa morning was super fantastic. No one can describe this beauty I can sure about this. Cloud floating under my legs, feels like I become a God. I woke my friend and ask get some breakfast. I was really enjoy that I can have some meal over the cloud, I still remember the day I had the meal seeing sea of the cloud. The tables were set and a lot of foods were waiting us, Actually they didn't prepare a lot as much as think. But the view I can see through the window was astonishing. Sunlight coming down from the spot of the cloud , It was too fantastic!! I can describe like this, I ate a meal in the room master piece surround by me.

하노이로 돌아가다

Go back to Hanoi

조식을 먹고 프론트 직원에게 버스표에 대하여 물어보니 우리가 어제 물어본 오후 1시표는 없고 4시표가 있다고 한다. 이렇게 되면 하노이에 도착하는 시간이 너무 늦게된다 .. 하지만 내 친구의 누나가 베트남에서 관광업을 하기 때문에 누나에게 전화해 버스표를 물어보니 5천원이나 싼가격에 1시 버스표를 바로 구해주는것 아닌가.. 역시.... 우리는 버스역까지 먼저 나가 근처 카페에서 코너 맥그리거와 메이웨더의 경기를 보면서 버스 시간이 오길 기다리고, 버스를 타고 6시간의 긴 여행끝에 다시 하노이에 도착했다!! 

After finished lunch and asked hotel front that is there any bus heading Hanoi at 1 pm to 2pm, but they said No but they have a ticket at 4pm so my friend's sister ask to her sister to book the bus tickets heading Hanoi since she is doing business in travel company so she can easily get some tickets for us. So we can arrive Hanoi safely after sleeping 6 hours inside the bus.
