PRETTY PURPLE PANSIES (COLORCHALLENGE PURPLE SUNDAY)
The Pansies ancestor is the Viola, which is a large genus of around 500 species. Pansies have fragrant blooms, that are also edible. Their fragrance seems to be at its best, early morning or at dusk.
The leaves are also edible, along with the flowers of the Pansies and Violas, and are really high in vitamin A and C. The flowers have also been used in syrups, honey and dyes.
They are fairly hardy when it comes to pests and diseases, and are an easy plant to grow.
So if you want a garden with colour, that can also be used in the kitchen as a garnish for salads, and other recipes, then you might want to consider the humble Pansy.
I love these flowers, in Russia they're called Анютины глазки which means Ann's eyes haha
Oh, wow. Thats so cool, thankyou.
Lovely! One of the few flowers that I'd grow if my garden wasn't so hot and dry and unsuitable for anything other than succulents
Its a good thing you love succulents so much. Its not such a bad thing if thats all you can grow, because they are spectacular anyway.
wow... you have a nice garden, i love purple.
Both the flowers and the leaves can be eaten ?
Thankyou
