A Great Legendary Musician once said, ‘one good thing about music is that when it hits you, you feel no pain’. Music is very powerful and has the ability to cure, and heal the very soul even the Christian Religious Book (The Bible) once recorded in 1 Samuel 16:23 that “And whenever the tormenting spirit from God troubled Saul, David would play the harp. Then Saul would feel better, and the tormenting spirit would go away.”
The invention of musical instruments is as old as man, an Australian physicist findings recorded that musical instrument came about by accident, and was developed by any available material found, and sometimes the sensations will result from the clamors of war, while the invention of music is still a mystery to man, musical instrument on the other hand was developed by the crafty nature of the musical players involved.
Archaeologists argue about how and where the first musical instrument were invented, but because the craftiness by the ancient musical player were amateurs, the materials used were perishable to have been discovered, some of the materials involves the hard shells of snails, or the horns of calves, and flutes made of bones which the craftmen drilled holes into may have disintegrated long ago, but some musical instrument found which can be dated about 67,000 years ago might have been made by the Neanderthals.
Harps and Lyres, used by the Biblical David where made between 2,600 -2,500 B.C where discovered in the Sumerian city of Ur, the Home of Biblical Abraham. It structure and basic design is known from Ancient coin, to which David would be used at night for the ailing King Saul, the King Saul would have anger fits, nightmares and general malaise that was affecting his mind and his physical health and as David handle the instrument, King Saul will be fine again.
HOW CIVILIZATION BROUGHT ABOUT THE ADVANCEMENT OF MUSICAL INSTRUMENT
Civilization brought about advancement, from Bronze Age to Metal Age usually in alloy form for strength which was developed from weapons of war, Coppers, Tin alloys were also used.
One would wonder what inspired the production of musical sound from their respective musical instruments and how they came about, for examples the "Church Bells" - In Ancient time, warriors discovered that hitting a bronze sword to a helmet made of bronze produces a definite pitch when empty than when it is worn in the heads of the warriors - hence the Church Bells.
Wood on the other hand is the secret of stringed instruments such as guitars, violins as well as pianos which might have been developed from 'Bows and Arrows'. All stringed instrument always need the wood as an amplifier.
Now in our modern age, scientist have discovered ways to improve most musical instrument to produce beautiful sound pitch to soothes the hearing.
