Red Roses of Love
These photos came from three different locations.
Roses can be found worldwide and there are over 100 different species. Most of the species originated from Asia. Other species came form Europe, North America and Africa.
The species determines the size of the flower which can be as large as 33 inches in diameter.
I like how the sun was shining on this one.
The species also determines the color of the rose flower.
Red roses symbolize love, yellow for friendship and pink for joy.
The oldest fossils of roses were found in Colorado which are from 35 millions years ago. Yes...35 million years!
And what is the age of the oldest living rose? 1,000 years old! If you want to see this ancient rose in person, it can be found in Germany, growing on the wall of the Cathedral of Hildesheim. That must be a sight to behold.
The fruit of the rose looks like a berry and it is called, "Rose Hip." It can be used to make jam, marmalade and when dried, it can be used to make tea. Rose hip is rich in Vitamin C.
Rose oil is used in the making of perfumes and it takes 2,000 roses to get only one gram of oil.

the first couple top photos and the
fifth one, look at them rose leaf
shadows how pointy the edges!! ⚔
And that 5th one has a neat shadow of the rose bud. : )
