I found these Mallard ducks at a park last summer. Males have the green head and white collar, and are called drakes. Females are brown and tan all over, and are called hens. Mallard ducks form pairs in autumn and court during the winter. They mate in the spring. They also mate with other duck species which produces different hybrids. I think the light colored duck is one of those hybrids.
Thanks for flying by and have a great weekend!

well well well...look who showed up for featheredfriday! How ya doin Butterfly? Hey did you ever notice that the male of the species is always gorgeously handsome with bright and beautiful colors and the female is always a plain jane and homely? lol.. just sayin...I have no idea why that is, I just thought I'd throw that out there!
Howdy @janton! You know, I have always wondered why that is about the males having all of the beauty instead of the females. : )
Sorry for the later reply. I have been out with a migraine. I wonder if this time I will be able to stay on Steemit for more than a couple of days.
howdy Butterfly! I'm so sorry about the migraine, did sir smithlabs give you any good information that might be helpful?
Yes, he did but what I needed to order was out of stock. He was a great help with all of my problems.
I still don't feel good but at least the pain in my head is finally gone. But my neck still feels like it is broken. : ( I will be back later. I want to catch up on all of my replies and upvotes, like yours.
hey again Butterfly. just tell him what you need or want to try and he'll send you some, no charge and don't worry about it. Don't worry, he loves helping people plus he's loaded! lol.
No way! Not in a million years will I ask him to do that. It was hard enough for me to ask questions.
haha! well he wants to send you some stuff for free, he makes capsules at home with his own machine so they're super cheap anyway, just tell me what you want and I'll email him or you can email him and ask for my email address or I could give it to you here.
You need to let us help, if not then you deny us the blessing of helping others. We get more back by helping, it's a universal law, one of the first which God established actually, the law of sowing and reaping but I'm sorry I'm not here to preach! lol. and we're not trying to get something back, I mean that's not the motivation.
He did tell me that he makes the capsules at his home. I don't have the room to do that.
I am so bad at asking and accepting help even knowing that is what God wants us to do. I just think that there are so many people in this world that need so much more help than I do. Their needs are dire. And I also know that your intentions are good. But if, big if I do get them from him, I must pay for them. Let me pray about it.
Okay, I have a question now that needs your expertise. Do ducks play 'duck, duck, goose'?
No, but the geese do! Check it out here
Pretty and they are smart.... Like most birds....
I agree. Thanks Mike!
Cute ducks - I think you are correct about the light coloured one, that looks like a hybrid to me. Thank you for posting in Feathered Friday! I hope you enjoy your weekend. Voted and resteemed :-)
Good to know that you agree it is a hybrid. I like the coloring on her. I am really enjoying Feathered Friday! : )
That's nice, glad to hear it! Come on back as often as you like :-)
That light colored female is quite lovely!
I thought so too. She sure is different looking. : )
Really cute ducks! I especially like the male with the green head, very beautiful.... ;)
Thanks sis! Glad you enjoyed these ducks. : )
You're welcome! ;)
