Time for your Friday dose of "Have You Smiled Today?" #29

SNOWY OWL

The calendar tells me that it is spring, but the weather tells me it is winter and that is why this Snowy Owl is so happy. They are also known as Arctic Owls and they live in wide open spaces in the extreme north which includes Alaska, Canada and Eurasia. Male Snowy Owls are mostly white. The females have dark feathers and their heads, breast, and wings which is called, "speckling" and serves as a great camouflage.

They are quiet owls but do become more vocal during mating season. Females lay their 5-8 eggs, one at a time and 2 days apart. They hunt mostly during the day, but if needed, they will hunt at night. Snowy Owls mostly feed on lemmings and voles, but when they are not found, they will feed on rabbits.

Hopefully, this cute little face will keep us all smiling this weekend because more snow is on the way.

Wishing everyone smiling thoughts!

He's so dang cute! Love the facts too. It's snowing here (boo!) and so cold!

Isn't that the cutest face?!?! You have snow already? I remember that you are in the snow belt. I sure am not looking forward to the snow we are supposed to get. I have been thinking about you. Is the botox helping any? I had a migraine all last Easter weekend. : (

It is an adorable face! Yes, we had more snow every day the past three days. Not a lot, at least, but nonetheless more in April!
Thanks for thinking of me. I have not had a lot of days without migraine yet post Botox. I was advised it may take two or even three sessions before I experience marked relief. Today, Jeff is taking me to Erie where I will get the controversial daith ear cartilage piercing
Several friends and coworkers have gotten the piercing and I reason, what have I to lose?

Im sorry that you had to suffer that migraine over Easter. I was recovering from a sinus infection that I believe now was provoking a lot of my migraines. Last night I had Jeff bring me home early from dinner again. I've had a migraine all day, but we wanted to celebrate our 6 months anniversary we had reached on April 5th. In spite of the migraine, I enjoyed myself and met new friends. One day at a time, right? I hope you have a wonderful weekend and I'll keep you posted on the daith piercing. <3 Here's a picture of what i woke up to this morning!

Oh yuck! Look at that snow. We lucked out this past weekend and that made me so happy. I heard that those cartilage ear piercings are painful and hope yours wasn't too bad. Yes, sinus infections do bring on migraines. Congrats on your 6 month anniversary! That truly is something to celebrate. I have to give you a lot of credit going out because I know that wasn't easy for you. And I sure hope you get some relief real soon. I am not going to be on the computer all this coming week because I am having dental surgery which always causes a 3 day migraine. Double pain that I am not looking forward to but will be happy when it is over. Like you said...one day at a time. You take care of yourself and I hope you have snow free and pain free week! Hugs! : )

The piercing was a bit ouchy! Blogger me had Jeff record it [he said he caught the expression on my face as it was pierced] I will eventually make a [gruesome] post haha from the piercer marking the ear to completion. Another truly life changing event occurred yesterday and fully absorbed me and my siblings all weekend (more blog material to come!). I am currently migraine free tonight, but exhausted since I couldn't sleep on my right ear last night. I purchased a travel pillow to facilitate that tonight. I will pray that you have an easy time of your surgery and no migraines! Ugh! I can't stand dental work. Jeff said temps in the high 70s next weekend. Take care!

HaHa! I can just imagine the look on your face and I am looking forward to your posts. Yay! Migraine free...isn't that the best?!?! And temps in the 70's next week? OMG! Music to my ears. Thanks so much for your prayers. : )

Hehe, I knew you'd get a laugh on that! You are welcome, dear!

WOW! Really cute Snowy Owl! She looks very happy and this can make me smile wildly now.... Interesting information. I think I'm right to call this Snowy Owl as "she" and not "he", right? ;)

Yes, you are right. This one is a she and real cutie. The males are almost all white. Glad that she can make you smile. sis! : )

Bravo! I'm correct! Yes, she's a real cutie, as you said, I agree! ;)

Birds are smart. There are no dumb birds.

They sure are, especially their ability to stay alive.
