Day 187: 5 Minute Freewrite: Tuesday-Prompt: nail
He tried to fix the mast of the sail, with a hammer and a nail.
He pulled the hammer over his head, and the claw ripped his scalp instead.
He was dizzy and feeling faint, when he stepped on, what he thought was paint;
While walking to his car, only to find out it was hot tar.
His foot seared with blisters, and the agony caused him, to pull out his whiskers.
He sat on the dock in despair, the pain he could not bear.
He yelled at the sky, "Lord, please let me die!" and the sky began to cry.
Tears of rain fell, and he heard the ring of a bell.
He thought an angel was on the way, to take him away; however to his dismay,
The rain turned to hail and without fail, broke his nose and two of his toes.
His fog was dense and immense; this was his day, to drift away.
But before Dale died with the tide, he wrote a note to his boat.
Wrap me with the cloth of your sail, and please do not feed me to a whale.
You had one flaw, and the hammer had one claw.
My dearest Gale, I wish you hadn't needed that nail.
